Engineering Knowledge Bowl | Reitz Auditorium | February 16th | 6PM-9PM Eran del Castillo | [email protected]
• Goal: To be the ultimate test of knowledge and a social, competitive event with the same aesthetic as the Jeopardy! show.
• Engineering Knowledge Bowl is a Jeopardy-style trivia tournament. • Competing teams will comprise of 5 individuals representing their STEM
organization. • Student teams must participate in the preliminary exam hosted on February
5th at 6PM at Turlington L007. • Competing teams are chosen using the results from the preliminary exam,
which consist of questions similar in content to the knowledge bowl. Preliminary exam will be administered 2 weeks prior to the knowledge bowl.
• Knowledge Bowl consists of 4 rounds total. • Intermission will allow audience and participants to get refreshments. • A brief awards ceremony will close the event.
Engineering Leadership Forum | Hough Hall | February 18th | 6PM-9PM Marissa Buck | [email protected]
• Goal: Focuses on educating all students about the engineering profession, the path to become an engineer, and examples of leadership development on the job. ELF aims to reach these event goals by inviting 4 distinguished faculty members and 7 companies to interact with UF students in a business casual setting.
• Sponsored by Harris Corporation. • Prior to the event, small hors d'oeuvres (Classic Fare) will be provided for all
attendees to enjoy, and will be available throughout the event. • Corporate representatives will be allotted a half hour presentation about their
career and leadership development, followed by a question and answer session from the students.
• Panel of faculty and corporate representatives will be held to compare the various engineering experiences, encouraging group discussion from the audience.
• Networking session for all students to meet and discuss further curiosities with the faculty and corporate representatives.
• Provide all the attending students’ resumes on a disk for the companies to accept at their leisure.

SWOT: Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, and Threats • Event will be hosted by Engineering Ambassadors • Will be held at Marston Science Library Visualization and Conference Room in
the new Collaboration Commons. • Benefit of hosting at Marston: 1st floor is full of engineering students who will be
more inclined to take a break and participate in the event. • SEALED refreshments will be provided at the event. • Students will have the opportunity to communicate thoughts, comments, and
concerns about UF’s College of Engineering. They will participate in group discussions with the ambassadors.
• All gathered information will be given to the College of Engineering deans.

• Goal: To celebrate engineering, meet new societies, and have a fun time.
• Event features free food, inflatables, society fair, and various activities. • Inflatables will be disbursed throughout Norman Field. • Society Fair will run throughout the entire event. • Societies will conduct 3-minute skits (or advertise their student organizations)
between each music performance. Best skit will receive a Best Skit trophy. • Miscellaneous activities include a dunk tank, caricaturist, and shirt tie-dying. • The event is open to the public and those attending can park at the Norman parking
garage for free. • Food: Hamburgers with toppings, chips, drinks, cookies, and brownies (Provided by
Classic Fare).

• Goal: To engender a spark of interest of STEM related subjects, to instill motivation about the future of Scientists and Engineers, to encourage a positive atmosphere within STEM related majors, and to welcome young students onto the University’s campus with an enthusiastic attitude.
• 14 counties from around Florida will be present at Engineering and Science Fair. • 25 schools will be present at Engineering and Science Fair. • 18 of the 25 will be attending for the first time. • 1,041 students from elementary and middle schools (February 23rd) • 509 students from high school (February 24th)

• Event structure: Society Fair, Speakers, Tours • 17 on-campus organizations will be hosting interactive STEM-related booths with
the purpose of inspiring young scientists and engineers. • Art and Engineering related booths will be present and hosted by students
enrolled in the ART2807C class. • K’NEX Coaster presented by The Coaster Model Enthusiasts of Florida • Freshman Leadership Booth: A new E-Fair hosted booth to aid high school and
prospective college students with first-year student advice. Representatives from: FLEG, FLC, FLP, MLP, PMP, Honors Ambassadors will serve as hosts for this booth.
• Scavenger hunt/raffle will take place in which 2 schools will have the chance to win a 3D printed plaque to serve as a display/memory of E-Fair 2015.
• Elementary / Middle school students will receive a certificate of participation at E-Fair, along with a goodie bag full of candy
• AIChE will host an annual nitrogen ice cream booth

• Tours
• Conducted by the Engineering Ambassadors. • The routes have been modified to fit the goals of E-Fair by adding stops such as
the stadium that shed light to what being a Gator Engineer means. • Elementary/middle school students will visit the New Physics Building, while high
school students will participate in a regular tour. • Tours will begin promptly at 9:30 a.m. and will run till 2:50 p.m. • There will be two tour groups that will average 40-60 students per group with two
EAs leading one group.

• Invitations sent to faculty and society representatives. Engineers’ Week directors, assistant directors, and BEC officers will be invited separately.
• Event timeline: • 4PM – Arrive and begin decorations. Flowers in vases, balloon decorations.
Name tags will be distributed to all who attend. Candles will be lit as the event time approaches.
• 5/5:30 – Caterers (Classic Fare) and live band arrive. Attendees arrive and will be given name tags. Mingling will occur until 5:45, during which attendees will also get their food. PowerPoint with event documentation from Engineers’ Week 2015 will also run at this time.
• 6:15 – Speakers will deliver speeches. Dean Lindner is currently RSVPd to speak, and 2 more speakers are expected.
• 6:40 – Presentation of society awards (certificates) and acknowledgement of directors and assistant directors, finally ending with announcement of E-Cup recipient.

E4 Voting | Engineering Ambassadors
• Hosted by Engineering Ambassadors • E4 Lecture is a speech delivered by a faculty or staff member in
the College of Engineering during the Fall of each academic year. Students nominate and vote for this speaker during Engineers’ Week every year.
• An EA will be present at EVERY Engineers’ Week event conducting
nominations and voting during event sign in. • Voting will be done through official E-Week website for convenience
