15th September “Engineers Day” Celebration College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology,

On 15th September, 2015, a splendid daylong function was organized at College of Agricultural Engineering & Technology, Godhra, to celebrate “The Engineers Day”, in the remembrance of Dr. Mokshagundam Visweswaraya, world renowned ever first Indian civil engineer, recipient of several prestigious recognitions, including awards like “Bharat Ratna”. Dr M L Gaur, Principal of college gave inaugural speech with most updated reviews on achievements and visionary thoughts of Sir Visweswaraya, which have great potential even for ongoing era of engineering. On this occasion all CAET students were got involved in several extracurricular activities, including collection and presentation of several unknown findings, achievements, mile stones created by Sir Visweswaraya to establish engineering profession and its deep roots into the society. A systematic set of activities were conceived and organized making several groups of students with common thoughtful tasks, correlating the engineering and its true applications with emerging burning issues of society. The prevailing challenges in regards to water, energy, climate, and socioeconomic aspects were well reviewed by UG and PG students, followed by long debates and thoughts. Later after having more than 17 groups, these equal mind young, very nicely transformed their visionary thoughts and ideas into pictorial presentations by presenting many quality posters using hands, colours and artistic ingredients thereupon. Students remained busy for whole day after having shared their experience for that entire day, being in in seventeen diverse groups. Each groups had decided their own name, which has sound relevance with their theme. Posters were finalized having their correlations with emerging importance of agricultural engineering based interventions for Indian agrarian society. The posters were formally arranged in a gallery at common entrance place of college, where majority of people got the chance to go across this beautiful art gallery.

A jury comprising all HODs and Principal was formulated to critically evaluate each group poster, and relatively mark its value. Afterward, each group was given definite time to present themes and logical constituents of their posters through power point presentations, which were arranged inside the conference hall, having whole college as audience. Composite marking /evaluations were performed and accordingly, three best ones were awarded prizes/certificates. The presentations and whole efforts made by even the recently joined 1st semester B Tech students, was so nice that it pleased all the audience. The warm group namely “Transmind” comprising M. Tech & Ph. D Students got first rank/prize, followed by “Staggering Geniuses” a group of 3rd year B Tech student’s , securing 2nd best rank/prize. The group namely “Krishi Dhan” being the 2nd year B Tech students bagged 3rd rank/prize. Consolation prizes/commendations were released to others too. The celebration was finished with another inspirational speech as well as an internal oath by Agricultural Engineering students and the faculty for making their minds to extend best possible benefits to farmers and other agrarian society of India by providing more comfort, values, income and social standards making deep percolation of agricultural engineering based interventions at grass root levels.
