delivery iconsOn-campus – This is the traditional setting for college courses, where

all of the courses needed to complete your program are taken on

campus. Note that some programs may require participation

off-campus including field-trips or practicum experiences.

Online – These programs are fully completed online, without the need

to come to campus. Note that some programs may offer practicum

experiences or labs that require participation on-site. Programs offered

online can often be completed in a flexible time frame.

Blended – Programs that can be taken with a blended learning

approach offer most courses face-to-face in the classroom but some

courses in the program can be completed online.

engineering design and drafting

Engineering Design and Drafting Technology • two-year diploma

• September admission

Design and drafting technologists prepare engineering and architectural plans as

well as project specifications for commercial and residential buildings and other

construction projects. Their work is essential to all aspects of engineering and construction

– and students studying Engineering Design and Drafting Technology at Lethbridge College will

gain both the theory and experience they need to succeed on the job or in their future studies.

Our program provides you with a comprehensive understanding of design and drafting in

mechanical, architectural/structural, municipal, piping and topographical fields. Fundamentals

in these areas are applied with hands-on projects using computer-assisted drafting technology,

including some of the latest 3D design applications.

You’ll gain an understanding of engineering fundamentals to provide you with a solid basis for

entry into this exciting and challenging field and learn how to produce and interpret industry-

quality engineering designs and plans. And you’ll be in demand: in the past several years the

program’s employment success rate has been very high.

Welcome to your future in Engineering Design and Drafting Technology – it starts

at Lethbridge College.

Geomatics Engineering Technology(Digital Mapping and Surveying)• two-year diploma

• September admission

Geomatics brings together surveying and mapping with widely popular technologies

such as global positioning systems (GPS), geographic information systems (GIS),

and satellite image analysis. Geomatics engineering technologists determine or establish

boundaries by searching survey records and land titles, conduct field work and prepare plans.

Lethbridge College’s practical two-year diploma in Geomatics Engineering Technology will

prepare you to be part of this dynamic field with great jobs in areas ranging from surveying and

land management to geographic information systems and mapping.

In year one of the program, we’ll give you a comprehensive introduction to engineering

fundamentals. Using hands-on exercises, we’ll introduce you to surveying, mapping and data

collection techniques. In the second year, you’ll hone your skills in collecting high-precision

location data as well as learn how to map and analyze it using industry-standard software

applications. There is a high demand for graduates from this program. Get started on

your future in this exciting field today at Lethbridge College.

“The quality of education I received was high. The instructors knew the material very well and were excellent in sharing their knowledge. Since I went onto university I was able to see that much of the information taught to me in college was about the same as some third year, fourth year and elective classes in university. And because of the foundation that was created by my college experience, I am now a professional engineer and am doing what I love to do.”
