The ShearLock® Engineered Slope Retention System is an innovative and cost effective way to protect slopes from potential landslides and to repair existing landslides.

ShearLock® uses tried and true engineering principles combined with the ShearLock® Piles to quickly and efficiently retain unstable material and ‘lock’ the potential shear failure plane.

Many areas in New Zealand, especially around road and rail infrastructure are marked by steep and unstable slopes causing landslides to block the road or rail network during frequent storm events. With the ShearLock® system, the slipped soil can be pushed back onto the slope and compacted into place, then stabilised by installing ShearLock® Piles in a predetermined grid pattern.

FEATURES AND BENEFITS• Prevents costly and time consuming cartage of slip material away from site• Fast design and execution due to extensive research typical designs • Can be engineered to meet specific site conditions• Uses readily available and pre certified ShearLock® Piles which are used as the basis for the ShearLock® design charts• Backed up by extensive Engineering research and computer modeling• Can be used for repairing existing failures or stabilising known potential slides• Peace of mind for road network supervisors and rail area managers that key sites have been stabilised
