6586 - Engine Timing Tool Kit - VAG 1.0, 1.2, 1.4 (CoD)• Designed to provide all of the essential timing tools required for the latest Generation 1.0lt,

1.2lt and 1.4lt TSi/FSi petrol engines found across the VAG range. This includes the 1.4lt TFSI CoD engine.

• The CoD (Cylinder on Demand) feature is used in the modern turbocharged petrol engine that has a Cylinder Cut Off system which reduces from 4 cylinders to 2 cylinders when cruising – giving better miles per gallon

• The kit consists of the components required to lock the Crankshaft, Cam pulleys and Camshafts in their timed positions to allow the removal and replacement of the camshaft timing belt.

• The following instructions are for guidance only. Please refer to OEM derived data such as the vehicles manufactures own data or Autodata.

Instructions

Preparation and Precautions:• When loosening or tightening the camshaft or crankshaft pulley bolts ALWAYS use a pulley

holding tool• The components provided in this kit are to lock the camshaft, crankshaft in their timed

position and not designed to hold them against the load when tightening or loosening fixings.

Component E:All engines - Crankshaft Locking Pin

NOTE: Fit B finger tight only in accordance with OEM instructions to avoid excessive sideways pressure being placed on the camshaft inner shaft. As long as the pins of B fully engage with the camshaft an even gap of up to 3.0mm between the cylinder head and B back plate is acceptable. Failure to adhere to this instruction could cause damage.

Component I:Ball End Hex Key 6mm

Both components are used to loosen and adjust the camshaft drive belt tensioner as per manufacturer’s instructions
