How it works

The GTC505 Engine Ignition Analyzer is a handheld

instrument designed from the ground up for the diagnosis

and performance measurement of all types of spark ignition

systems, from conventional to the newest Coil on Plug in

use.

The latest generation of ARM Cortex processors together

with proprietary hardware and digital signal processing

technology are combined to provide with all the information

required for quick and reliable diagnosis within seconds,

without lengthy setups, nor the long learning curve of

conventional lab scopes or engine analyzer.

Capable of displaying and measuring the following in real

time: secondary ignition waveform, primary coil current

ramp time, dwell time, spark burn time and RPM. It also

provides two innovative and unique display formats used to

compare measurements between cylinders, and to look at

data for hundreds of spark events over time in order to

detect intermittent problems, misfires and other

performance issues which are very difficult to detect using

conventional scopes.

This hand held device is powered by a rechargeable lithium

battery, which provides up to 8 hours of battery life and

uses a fast response 3.5” color TFT display with a bright

backlight and wide viewing angle.

Displays and measures spark burn (firing) time, dwell time, current ramp

time, RPM, and spark plug peak voltage.

Selectable view of all measurements modes as chart, compare graph, analog gauge / digital readout and waveforms.

Displays secondary ignition waveforms.

Candle stick graph compares maximum,

minimum and average measurements

of several cylinders.

Analog gauge and digital readout with maximum and minimum.

Chart mode used for detecting intermittent or infrequent failures and misfires.

Specially designed pick-ups for coil on plug ignition modules (left) and spark plug wires (right).

Works on 2 and 4 cycle, and waste spark ignition systems engines.
