Coolant and Chip Removal from Engine Block

description

Specialized Industry Solutions (www.specializedindustry.com) presents an Engine Block Blow-Off Station. The machine sequence is as follows. Once the operator signals the station via a manual switch an overhead door is automatically opened approx. 25" via a pneumatic cylinder. Sensors are included for detecting door presence at both the opened and closed position. The existing robotic pick and place obtains and lowers an engine block onto the rotary plate fixture and releases the block. Once the robot has unloaded the engine block, it clears the machine the overhead door is then automatically closed. The engine block is automatically clamped to the rotary plate and an electric motor will provide the rotation for the cleaning process. The block is rotated to empty out any large pools of coolant. The engine block will then be rotated back to its original orientation wherein the air knives and blow-off nozzles are initiated to blow the chips from the block. Once the block has been cleaned and returned to its original load position, the operator will engage touch buttons allowing the front access door to be automatically lowered and the engine block pushed into the unload area by a pneumatic cylinder. The operator must remain engaged with the palm buttons until the full extend sensor is achieved on the pusher cylinder and the engine block is clear of the front access door.
