A TALE OFWINE HISTORY

n the beginning were the Lords: great wine families of French origin, whose nobility was established over the centuries with the conquering of arable land suitable for the magnificent expression of their quality. Then came the time of alliances and Kings: the marriages between great noble families of different territories of the country, for the creation of great and powerful kingdoms of different styles (Bordeaux, Bourgogne, Côtes-du-Rhône, Côtes-de-Provence, Champagne...) whose wealth and grandeur have thrived up to the present day, notably through the introduction and preservation of a unique system of laws: the appellations of protected origin. From the Lords of grape varieties to the Kings of the great appellations, including their Princes and Dukes, Royance invites you to discover and better understand the marvellous history of French wine. Once upon a time, Royance...

I

Drink France, Drink Royance Royance was born from the brainwave of Louis Joly and Philippe Ortiz, two French entrepreneurs and specialists in international wines and spirits. Fascinated by their country and the marvellous resources of its land, they imagined a range of French wines led by a totally new marketing concept, mixing innovation and education; an initiative between modernity and tradition, concerned about revitalising the French name, defending its identity and excellence, and making it easier for today’s consumers to understand.

A Tale of Wine History Royance retells the history of French wine, the worldwide king of wines; the history of the families behind the different grape varieties, of which many of those that are today consumed worldwide are of French nobility (Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Noir...), from their conquests to their alliances in certain territories, through which the most sparkling kingdoms of wine in the world were established over time, their universal styles, their unfailing standards of good taste: the great French appellations.

Royance Values Passion: Royance wines are dedicated to the grand idea of making French wine better understood throughout the world: the desire to remind the world that the bulk of the great grape varieties in the world derive from French nobility and that the great French Appellations, born from the conquest and union of different territories, are the unsinkable giants of worldwide wine heritage. Quality: Royance wines are produced according to the highest standards of quality, while greatly respecting French tradition. Selected from the best of French wine growers, their style has been moulded to be symbolic of the French quality that they represent.

Innovation: Royance wines are easily identifiable by their crown, for an original aesthetic that contributes to the best possible identification and differentiation of the brand. Significant, because French wine is the king of all wines, this aesthetic crowns the characters of Royance, making them easier to locate and read, thanks to an adapted colour-coding system. Useful, the bottle has been created according to certified food standards, allowing its re-use once opened.

Royance Values

Passion – Quality – Innovation - Education

Education: Because French wines are perceived as too complex for today’s consumer, Royance wines are likened to historical figures, whose stories are told using an original and easy to understand key. Knights and Ladies, the original all-conquering Lords at the head of the noble families of French wine, the Kings and Queens who ruled over the vast kingdoms that were created from their unions, and finally, at the heart of these great kingdoms, their Princes and Dukes, the leaders of expression, even more characteristic of the stylistic currents specific to the different territories that made up their kingdoms.
