2- International Phonetic Alphabet (Consonants)

3- Span: 150 minutes.

4- Method:

The teacher starts the class with greetings and asking students how they are getting on

with their English skills. He then talks about the Kachru’s three circles by drawing a

rough diagram to show them how different people pronounce English differently.

Different examples of bad pronunciations are used and awareness is created how

people shape their opinion about others just on the basis of how they pronounce words.

The teacher then plays a couple of video and asks students for their reflections. This

follows by reading the handout aloud with vowels and diphthongs coming first. When

this is done the teachers asks the students to jot down two words with each vowel and

diphthong. The students afterwards read aloud the words they write. Now the teacher

heads the students to reading aloud consonants and it is followed by the same writing

activity. Then two quizzes are taken to finish the session.

5- Lecture: The lecture was for 20 to 25.
