What sources of energy do you see evidence of here? Energy Use on Kahoolawe KIRC uses solar power and a diesel generator to supply electricity to their facilities at the Honokanaia base camp. Honokanaia Base Camp Former Military Barracks at Base Camp When the power goes out a portable generator provides back-up to cook the rice! Energy Use on Kahoolawe Boats and helicopters bring everyone and everything to Kahoolawe. Even the diesel fuel for the generator has to be flown in by helicopter.
