Technical Unit for Energy Efficiency
• Lgs. D. n.115 of May 30th 2008, enacted to comply with the provisions of the Directive 2006/32/EC, mandates ENEA to act as National Agency for Energy Efficiency
• To carry out the assigned tasks and functions, ENEA has established the Technical Unit for Energy Efficiency (UTEE)
• UTEE’s structure is composed of 8 technical Services and 2 technical–managerial support Services
• UTEE’s staff includes around 130 employees (researchers, technologists and administrative people) operating throughout the whole national territory
UTEE’s main tasks and functions

• To support the MiSE by developing the National Energy Efficiency Action Plans (NEEAPs) and drafting the Annual Report on Energy Efficiency (RAEE)
• To assist the Government, Regions and Local Authorities with technical-scientific support for the preparation of appropriate implementation tools needed for the achievement of national indicative energy saving targets
• To develop, in compliance with the Directive 2006/32/EC, calculation methods suitable for measuring energy savings in order to verify the achievement of national indicative energy saving targets
• To disseminate reliable and timely information on energy efficiency mechanisms and financial and legal frameworks, adopted with the aim of reaching the national indicative energy savings target, toward the Public Administration, relevant market actors and citizens
