25 April: Final report of the stress tests peer review approved by ENSREG. 8 May: Public meeting in Bruxelles to discuss results of the peer review process.24 May: WENRA lessons learnt from the stress tests Commission report to the European Council on the peer review results postponed till autumn.25 July ENSREG published an actions plan Follow-up of the peer review of the stress tests performed on European NPPs.

ENEF SWG NIS response to the EC Consultation
COM conducted from Dec 2011 until end of Feb 2012 a public consultation on areas of reinforcing the existing EURATOM nuclear safety legislative framework asking stakeholders for comments
SWG NIS therefore developed a set of recommendations which could be used by stakeholders for response. Major items were discussed with EC experts. EC was provided on 24 February 2012

Review of the legislative framework for nuclear safety
On this basis, NIS prepared a report on Review and possible improvements of the existing EURATOM nuclear safety regulatory framework .
A first version of this report was endorsed by WG/RISK on 19 April.
This Progress Report was presented by the WG/RISK Chairman at the 2012 ENEF plenary in Bratislava. It was well received by the attendance.
Final document should be prepared by the end of this year taking into account the results of the stress test and peer review process, including Commission recommendations

Review of the legislative framework for nuclear safety
SWG NIS meeting 5 July 2012
Reviewed the progress report and considered that it remains essentially valid.
Considered that the main task for the group is to analyse the ENSREG peer review report of the stress test.
Decided to set up a small task force to prepare this analysis. Potential evolution of the CNS and progress of IAEAaction plan will be monitored by NIS members andindustry position on these will be included in thefinal NIS report if necessary.

Task force to analyse ENSREG peer review report
Task force members (Eon, Vatenfall, EDF, Cez, ENISS)Main objective of the TF: to identify among the recommendations of the report:Technical requirements useful to be harmonized, that could be dealt with through WENRA/ENISS discussionsIssues to be included in the on going revision of the BSSIssues that could be candidate to be included in a revision of the Safety Directive.ENSREG action plan and WENRA lessons learnt to be included in the analysisResults of the TF will be discussed at the next NIS meeting 19 October.
