Ik ga het met u hebben over biomassa import ketens zoals die bij Eneco worden ontwikkeld. Eneco een NL energiebedrijf is vnl actief in NW europa. Vestigingen in Belgie, Frankrijk, UK en Dsl. We willen in 2020 onze energielevering 70% afkomstig van renewables biomassa is daar een belangrijk onderdeel van. In 2007 is de strategie ontwikkeld: van achterwaartse keten integratie Voordat we grote investeringen doen: grip op brandstof is key Hiervoor zijn wij actief over heel de wereld: Afrika, Azie en Zuid amerika Het sustainability office waar ik werk heeft onder meer als taak om er op te te letten dat deze achterwaartse ketenintegratie op een duurzame wijze toe stand komt en werkt onafhankelijk van onze development afdelingen

11 april heeft min van der Hoeven symbolisch een aantal subsidies uitgereikt, voor projecten die tot doel hebben grootschalig biomassa te importeren. (Wellicht de laatste keer dat ze dat doet en niet alleen omdat ze demissionair is.) Wij zijn er in ieder geval blij mee. En zijn inmiddels voortvarend aan de slag gegaan. Eneco heeft voor twee projecten een subsidie toegewezen gekregen: Voor de verwerking van houtafval uit vietnam (€ 530.000) Een haalbaarheidsstudie naar de duurzaamheid van babassu (30.000) Daarnaast zijn we betrokken bij de haalbaarstudie van fair trade certificering van jatropha in Tanzania, waarvoor een subsidie uit het biomassa import programma is verkregen. In deze presentatie ga ik het met u over het Vietnam project hebben.

Vietnam is een uitgestrekt land met een lange kustlijn en grensgebied met buurlanden Een sterk groeiende economie en een bevolking die erg ambitieus en productief is. Is van de lijst van LDC’s gehaald In 2008 is door Eneco een biomassapotentieel studie uitgevoerd daaruit is voortgekomen dat het sourcen van biomassa vanuit de meubelindustrie een aantrekkelijke optie is. Eneco richt zich op de omgeving van Ho Chi Minh waar een grote concentratie van meubelfabrieken aanwezig is Vietnam is vooral een invoer- en uitvoerland van hout: Hout wordt vanuit de hele wereld geïmporteerd en weer geëxporteerd naar USA, europa rest van azie. Grote meubelfabrikanten als Wallmart Carrefour, Blokker, Ikea kopen hier hun tuinmeubels Nog geen VPA met Eu (voluntary partnership agreement)
