Casting a GelAttach a buffer dam to one side of gel tray

Attach the other buffer dam to the other side of gel tray

Place gel tray on a flat surface

Casting a gel• Mix agarose buffer solution and boil

• Cool agarose solution to below 60ºC

• Pour onto gel tray

• Let solution cool for ½ hour

• Gently remove combs

Running the GelRemove the casting gates

Place the gel tray into the gel box

Overlay it with buffer

Connect the lid & attach to a power supply

Staining the Gel1. Remove gel from gel tray2. Place into a container with stain3. Destain the gel with buffer or water
