We weren’t wrong! ENZ New Year resolutions – future planning, sustainability and to GROW! May Strategic planning day was held … our goal ‘to be a household name’ and where ever you are in NZ, have access to all our services and programmes. Deborah spoke at the inaugural ANZ women’s business lunch in Christchurch titled ‘The $6 Billion Dollar Woman’ and discussed the impact of endometriosis on the workplace and society. The Manawatu Support Network was launched. ENZ had a stand at the Women’s Lifestyle Expo in Palmerston North. First trip to Palmerston North as part of the Mid Central DHB contract. April The programme went to Nelson and Marlborough secondary schools with thanks to The Canterbury Community Trust – Marlborough, Nelson. jUne We presented at ‘The Gluten Free Food and Allergy Show’ in Auckland talking about FODMAP foods and foods which tend to irritate the gut in those with bowel associated symptoms. ENZ trust board met. Key discussions this month were funding and marketing plans. The programme went to many secondary schools in the upper North Island with big thanks to Zonta in the ‘North Island road show’. February We attended the ‘PELVIC AND PERINEAL PAIN: CONSENSUS ON DISEASE IDENTITY’ conference in Sydney. This was attended by a diverse range of specialists and health professionals all working together to shed light on the complexities of pelvic pain. “You only see what you look for and you only look for what you know”. We learnt so much more about pain pathways and why so many girls and women with endometriosis, pain continues, despite getting treatment. Men in the City ‘Fall in love’ event was held in Wellington raising funds for ENZ. MarCh It’s a big deal’ video was launched sharing real stories of girls and women living with endometriosis. | Support network activities including the Christchurch and University of Canterbury network launch. | The International Women’s Day breakfast was held at the Ellerslie International Flower Show in Christchurch. | We were so excited to announce the special friendships with RedCurrent and Whitehot Jewellery . JulySpecific lifestyle factors were found to be associated with infertility and IVF success rates including coffee!

The 3rd edition of ‘Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain’ by Dr Susan Evans and Deborah Bush was released and is available through our website.

OctoberThe Glitz and Glamour event was held in Auckland by our friends at Astra Bridal, again raising funds for our cause. | The Women’s Lifestyle Expo and the Gluten Free Food and Allergy Show were held in Christchurch. | So excited to be a finalist in the Champion Canterbury Business Awards. | Deborah Bush was named Woman of the Year, Health and Science | Community and accredited health forums were held in Blenheim with great success! | From Blenheim to the ‘Out of Africa Fashion Extravaganza’ organised by the Zonta Metropolitan Dunedin Club, a fantastic evening raising funds for the programme to be delivered in Dunedin 2013.

DecemberAt an afternoon tea for influential woman in New Zealand, Deborah Bush met with and gave Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall a classic kiwi ‘high five’ and discussed with her the impact of endometriosis.

Whitehot Jewellery held the ‘bubbles and bling’ event in Christchurch.

AugustThe Bridal Tea Party was held in Hamilton organised by Astra Bridal raising funds to support us! | The Gluten Free Food and Allergy Show was held in Wellington. | A fantastic turn out at the accredited health forum attended by gynaecologists, GPs, nurses and health professionals in Palmerston North, ‘The Impact of Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain on General Practice’. “Great insight into a very real problem, which has been overlooked for years.” “This has changed my approach to women, pelvic pain and endometriosis.” | The eBook ‘Pelvic Pain 2012’ new edition was released. | The Women’s Lifestyle Expo was held at the Wellington TSB arena.

NOvemberAll our fantastic volunteer coordinators of the Support Networks gathered from around New Zealand for the annual conference in Christchurch to upskill, collaborate and share. New support networks will be launched in Dunedin, Blenheim and Wellington in 2013! | ‘Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain, what you need to know’ was released and available through our website for you now! | ‘What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?’ was posted on Facebook and generated LOTS of inspiration from all of you, some of our favourites were...

New Zealand Pain Society formed the ‘Pain in Childhood Special Interest Group’ with 14 members (including Deborah Bush)

Elaena met with teachers from secondary schools in the Hawkes Bay to inform them about the programme. With thanks to the Royston Trust, is being delivered to these schools in 2013. Resources were also given to medical centres and the book ‘Endometriosis and Pelvic Pain’ was delivered to the libraries in the region.

Our teen resources were re-designed and are available from our website.

The Women’s Lifestyle Expo was held in Dunedin.
