1. 14 American Cities Sonja Corazza Today, Dec. 21, 1999, at 5 a.m. the Lord woke me up and told me that America needed prayer specifically against terrorism and violence. During the next hour He gave me a list of 14 cities to pray for (also two international cities) and as in the middle of interceding I realized it was too large an assignment for me and that it needed to be sent out as a prayer alert. As I was praying in the darkness for that hour I didn't know the exact location of two of the cities, Houston, Texas and Newark, New Jersey, so later when I got up and looked at the atlas it became clear that the Lord had drawn a circle around the entire nation and in nearly every coastal state the city was right on the water's edge. As in the city list He gave me two years ago, only He knows why these specific ones are included and other seemingly obvious cities are excluded so I just offer the list in obediance to the Word that I heard. As before, undoubtedly there are many prayer warriors in these cities already praying so I have to believe the Lord is calling for an extra barrage of prayer to protect our nation. If all of us can just choose one to add to our prayers it won't seem like such a big burden. Look at a USA map and see the pattern. Also I believe we need as much prayer as possible before Jan.1st. 1. Seattle, Washington....pray against the kind of terrorism that tried to infiltrate this area already. 2. San Diego, California 3. Houston, Texas 4. New Orleans, Louisana 5. Tampa, Florida 6. Miami, Florida...pray against rebellion, violence and witchcraft (this city needs a double dose of prayer on a regular basis) 7. 2. As One Body? Jack W. Nehmer Dear Friends, In this last week, God gave me a vision of a convulsing body that would not (and could not) respond to the head. Father God has given to each healthy functioning body five senses to help function in a balanced, internal manner to come to maturity in its operation. God showed me that because of the vainglory of many people, the Body of Christ has not been able to accept and receive the ministry of the apostle, prophet, evangelist, pastor and teacher as God has designed to function together and in harmony. Because of this fact, the body (church) has been existing and functioning actively but not with the blessing of unity and perception of the five senses (hearing-apostle, sight- prophet, touch-evangelist, smell-pastor, and taste-teacher) working in unity. The convulsing body that I saw was the church that is BUSY with its activities but not working together for the purpose of the head (Jesus Christ) and guided (not controlled) by his five-fold gifts to bring to mature function of the body. The eyes of the body are to see for direction, danger, relating to the colorful and visual. The ears of the body are for hearing and listening to the audible for direction, danger, giving balance to the body to stand. The mouth is the instrument for speaking and receiving taste, chewing difficult things such as MEAT to nourish the body. The hands are for touch and feeling to relate and draw to the body from the external world. The nose is for smell for green pastures or bodies of water and even smelling uncleanness in the body or danger from outside. Each of can see how much we need these instruments for the edification and development of our body, but the nose, eyes, ears, mouth, and hands are nothing in themselves if it weren't for the senses (gifts) that make them useful for the body. They are part of the head, but NOT the head. Then, we recognize that everything must go through and be directed and organized by the head or mind to interact effectively with the rest of the body for edification. We also recognize the interaction of these members (in their perspective gifts) one with another. The sense of smell works interactively with the taste when it comes to feeding and nurturing the body. The ears interact with the eyes when there is hearing or seeing danger and in turn interact with the mouth to communicate that danger. The hands interacting with the ears, eyes, nose and mouth to bring into the body a foreign object that it may be received and digested. The wastes are past from the body and the object is made part of the body (just as new member brought in to the family). ETC, ETC, ETC. May God fill us with the knowledge of His will with all spiritual wisdom and understanding that we may be pleasing to Him bearing good fruit in every good work directed by Him. I couldn't see the edges, but I know I was somewhere very high. The clouds seemed so close to where I stood that if I could reach out, I could touch them. I began to look around insistently, but all I could see was this plain covered with beautiful grass that was all the same height. The sky was calm and beautiful and there was a feeling of peace in this place. There were no buildings, no trees, no flowers, just the earth and the sky. As I continued to look around me, I saw a change in the sky. The clouds began to roll to the sides, and I saw a city come down from the clouds. It continued to descend until it reached the ground where I stood. I was amazed by what I saw, and I began to study it intently. I have traveled this world a lot, but I have never seen anything like I was seeing. The entire structure was so beautiful that it took your breathe away. It was all white and it shone so brightly that one could barely look at it. It was so large that if I stood at one corner and looked to see the other end, I could not. As I was trying to find an entrance into this place, I studied the walls and couldn't make out what they were built from. It seemed that it was built as a whole, all from one giant mass. There was no bricks, there were no cracks in the walls, there was no mortar. As I stood, to my left was a building that was very tall, and smaller buildings continued along the wall. It seemed like the entire city was under one roof. Although the buildings were different, they were connected between themselves. As I continued to look, I saw the stairs that led to the entrance, and they shone brighter than anything I have ever seen. They were gigantic, as was the wall that surrounded the city. No one would ever be able to force their way into this place. I don't know what sort of material it was built from, but I got the impression that those inside, could see out. Wanting to find out what waited inside, I began to climb the stairs. I didn't get very far, because I heard a powerful voice which drowned out everything else. "Stop!" Even if I wanted to continue walking I could not. It was as if I was paralyzed. "Tell my people, that their worship toward Me must not be out of fear, but out of love. Of what use will it be to them if I would tell them when the final hour will strike? What they must do is worship wholeheartedly. I have already sent them a guide. They have My Word. In my Word it has already been revealed that I will come as a thief in the night. Tell them that concern over tomorrow should not be found in them. They must be faithful, and fight the good fight. Love me as I have loved them, living in love. Behold destruction is fast approaching, but I will not hesitate to protect for my chosen. Those that sow mercy, shall receive mercy from Me. More specifically, I have been hearing for the past week, "Make it count." I was kindly reminded by Holy Spirit of my dream of approximately 4-5 months ago, of which I was in the Revolutionary War, in "firing" position. I had ONE BULLET only. The voice of the Lord spoke, "You've got one shot: Fire!" At the time, I knew "in part" the interpretation. The Lord was speaking to me personally and the ministry He had set before me; that there was to be NO COMPROMISE in my walk with Him and within the ministry. I knew it was a warning from the LORD OF HOSTS to LAY LOW, maintain PURITY OF HEART, and MAKE IT COUNT -- a most narrow road, indeed. Yesterday, a friend of mine heard the numbers 12 and 21 for the number of attorneys that were sent from Washington, DC to Florida, when in fact they numbered about 100. I believe these numbers were "heard" most profoundly. We know 12 symbolically represents government and governmental authority. However, when I heard "21" I was reminded of the book of Daniel, chapters 9 and 10. We all know the story of Daniel's fasting, prayer and supplications (including intercessory repentance of the nation's sins) while seeking the Lord on behalf of the nation of Israel while in captivity to Cyrus, King of Persia. Three weeks later, Gabriel comes to Daniel with an "understanding," and explains to him in ch. 10:12-14: "Do not be afraid, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart on understanding this and on humbling yourself before your God, your words were heard, and I have come in response to your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia was withstanding me for 21 days; then behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left there with the kings of Persia. (KJV) in these ten short verses may be the sum of all the APOSTOLIC/PROPHETIC moves that many have been speaking of for years. it also is a clear statement of exactly who the true disciples/believers are. it also points out where the opposition originates and how it will appear and manifest. at first glance it is a "gospel" of division and confrontation. that is because THE GOSPEL OF KING JESUS is....divisive and confronts everything that Paul speaks of to the Church in Corrinth.2 Corinthians 10:5-6 5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; 6 And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. (KJV) there is also a clear aspect of THE GOSPEL OF THE KING that speaks explicitly about vengeance and recompense. the problem is the issue of FULL GOSPEL...or SELECTIVE GOSPEL. EVERY WORD...or only those that are "profitable" to self-centered religion and people intent of what "is right in their own eyes". this situation applies today as it did in the time of Joshua and the Judges....because there is "no king" in their land or their lives. in Matthew 10 KING JESUS said we must be found "worthy" of HIM. proven "worthy" at the cost of conflict and hostility in our "house" and "family". I Want To See Your Glory Bill Burns August 2, 2000 Early this morning I was awakened in the presence of the Lord, and my spirit cried out, "Lord, show me Your glory." This has been an ongoing prayer of mine. Like Moses, I want to see the glory of My God. I was surprised by the voice of the Lord as He asked me some questions. He said, "Which aspect of My glory do you want to see? Do you want to see the glory of My creative power by which the world was formed? Or, do you want to see the glory of My breath as man became a living being? Or, would you prefer to see the glory that I dwelt in before I took on flesh and walked among men? Or, would you rather experience the glory of the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth when the word was manifest in flesh? Or, would you like to view anew the glory of the cross by which mankind was set free from death, hell and the grave? Or, would you rather witness the glory of the resurrection in that day when My bride is caught up to be with Me to live in the glory of My eternal kingdom?" At this point I was a little overwhelmed by these questions, but I decided in my boldness to answer Him. "Well, Lord, I want to see all of these manifestations of Your glory." The glorious One knew what my answer would be, and once more He asked a question, "Would you like to see the manifestation of the glory that I am most pleased with--that which I delight in?" Wow, I thought, He is going to show me some hidden mystery, something wonderful to behold, and I wondered what would this glory be, that which the Lord Himself delights in! I said, "Yes, Lord. That's it, Lord! That's the glory I want to see." Suddenly I was caught up in the spirit, high above the earth where I could see various places of illumination upon the earth. I asked, "What are those lights, Lord?" And, He said, "Those lights are coming from My glorious churches. Those are places where two or three are gathered in My name, and they worship Me in spirit and in truth. Some are home fellowships; some are small churches; some are even large churches." He then said, "Come with Me, and I will show you why I delight in this glory that produces an inheritance of riches which enables Me to demonstrate My power in the earth." (Ephesians 1:18-19). He said, "I delight in blessing My people. Come and learn the secret power of this glory." The Lord then took me in spirit to one of these places of illumination. It was a small church of about 40 people. These people must have surely loved the Lord, for they were worshipping Him and lifting Him up and giving Him adoration. They praised Him with passion. They prayed with fervency and preached His word with love and authority. He then said, "Do you see the glory cloud of light that they are producing? Have you noticed that it has grown as they continued together in their pursuit of Me through praise, worship, preaching and prayer?" I said, "Yes, Lord. I can see why You delight in this glory that is produced by Your people, but I wanted to see YOUR glory." Once again the Master spoke, but only one word, "Watch." The King of Glory went to the place where the glory was gathering, and as I watched, He stepped into the cloud of glory, and He wrapped Himself up in it as if it were a garment. He said, "This is My inheritance of glory in the saints, and so you see, it is My glory. Now it will become My manifest power toward those who have believed according to the working of My mighty power. You see, son, they have given Me something to work with in their midst. As they prayed, I could sense that this glory of theirs that the Lord was now clothed in had quickened their faith. When they had prayed they anointed the people with oil. At this point the Lord moved beside each one as they were anointed, and He touched them, and the glory which He wore became a flow of His power, and healing virtue came forth. "Now you know why this is the glory that most pleases Me, for I delight to touch My people. This is the glory that is revealed through My people." Romans 8:18-19, "For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us. For the earnest expectation of the creation eagerly waits for the revealing of the sons of God." I had just witnessed the Master's joy as He walked among His own. His delight was to touch and return that which they had produced by faith and love. He then said, "One more question I will ask you. To Generation X BillBurns: July 30, 2000: It will be by My Spirit, says the Lord, for it is indeed the time and the season of the restoration of all things, and why would it surprise you that in the restoration that I should not raise up many sons and daughters to bring forth the glory of the kingdom? Today, I call you sons and daughters of My glory, for it shall be through your generation that the world witnesses the end, but in the end, the power and manifestation of a holy God shall come forth through the hearts and minds of young people who have no other cry in their hearts but to serve. In the very center of your spirit there is bursting forth a power that you knew not before; there is a releasing of the water, the spiritual water, the latter rain, that is to flow forth out of your innermost being. For I see the hearts of many and discern your thoughts as you see those around you who seem to be living in the full light of day, growing and gaining strength, living in peace and joy. Yet you yourself seem to be declining and slipping into the shadows. And the more you see others flourishing and moving ahead, seeming to frolic in the rivers of living water and enjoying My blessings, the more you feel yourself retreating into the twilight zone. But, I say to you, I am no respecter of persons, I do not value one above another. Neither do those around you exist in My kingdom without challenges. I tell you that this is a seduction, which will try to remove you from this place of difficulty and discontentment to a place of satisfaction. But, this is a function of your flesh and not My Spirit. For where you are now is necessary preparation for what is ahead of you, and if you indeed escape this crucible which is designed to refine and purify you, it will be as though you jumped from the frying pan into the fire, which is seven times hotter. Be content, therefore, with such things as you have, and let this work of purification be done. And, I say, rise up out of that place of walking in the flesh and walk in the Spirit. For, it is in the Spirit that you also will live in the light. August 1, 2000: Watch! Be alert and sensitive, for you are My vessels that I pour into and out of, and I am going to begin to flow through you in ways that are beyond what you have experienced before. But, I also tell you not to despise the day of small beginnings. Some of the outpourings will be nothing more than a word of encouragement to a dejected soul. For, I say to you, there is a fresh outpouring of My Spirit that will first fill you and then out of your innermost being will flow rivers of living water, and not one drop will be wasted. Open your hearts to receive all that I am pouring out, and be ready to give full expression to My nature and will. This outpouring will become a continuous flow, a stream of life that will bring cleansing and refreshing to those who are touched by it. August 2, 2000: I invite you to come into the holy place. Let your prayers ascend before Me like a sweet fragrance. For, surely I hear and answer prayer. Come before Me with a pure heart and clean hands and pour yourself out before Me. Let your heart melt like wax in My presence. I am waiting for you to put every burden on the altar. You know that what you have been trying to achieve but have been unable to accomplish, I am able. Safe Passage To Gilgal Sandy Warner 1/4/00 Hi Loved Ones, At the turn of the century as I watched millennium celebrations all over the world, I saw several things that truly gripped my heart. For the first time in mankind's history, the world witnessed a most incredible 24 hour period: 1. In cities all over the world, seas of faces joined massive gatherings. 2. Whether in public events or watching TV, the masses gathered to celebrate. 3. With so much potential for evil and tragedy, the gatherings were peaceful and joyous. 4. Never in history has there been so much prayer over the turnover of one day on the calendar. People started praying and preparing over a year ahead of time. No one had to tell people to pray. They prayed because suddenly their very existence became threatened. People voluntarily talked to God about Y2K and the turn of millennium. In another effort, businesses, industries and governments all over the world turned their efforts towards fixing the problem. This took massive money, man hours, planning and follow through to fix the problem. In another effort, people made plans. Most people asked themselves, "What I am going to do for New Year's?" Plans for celebrations began to emerge. Whether prayer gatherings, public gatherings or TV gatherings, people chose to participate in the celebration. Once again, it took massive money, man hours, planning and follow through to be able to witness these special events. I would like to thank all those who had the courage to give warnings. Ephraim Frank Dear Messianic Israelite, This week a friend of mine handed me a little book called, Exploding the Israel Deception, written by a Jewish believer in the Messiah. The book is only about 125 pages long and can be read in a couple of hours. The cover illustration is that of a black-gloved finger pressing a red button, with a sign above it: Destroy Global Delusions. Throughout the book the author refers to his revelation insight and scripture interpretation as an atomic bomb that will, if you choose to believe him, demolish many of the churchs famed end-time doctrines. The authors premise is that Jesus Christ is the true Israel, and that natural Israel of the flesh has little to do with the end-time prophetic Word, unless they come to faith and join the true Israel, i.e. the church, which is made up of both Jew and Gentile. In other words, there is a spiritual Israel and a natural Israel. He then proceeds to sink the great Titanic delusion by explaining that those who apply end-time doctrines, especially those of the book of Revelation, to natural Israel will go down with the ship and die in the icy waters of deception, ultimately ending up in the lake of fire (my paraphrase). The question is, will the icy water put out the fire, or will the fire boil the frozen water? Personally, I do not believe truth needs to be backed up by threats. However, many times, in our zeal to convince others of what we believe to be the truth, we feel compelled to use these kinds of tactics. This approach, though, does not minister life to the Body. Instead, it pushes the proverbial red buttons which turn people off and makes for a great deal of strife and contention. However, let not my opening paragraph lead anyone to believe that I am opposed to this book. A re- examination of our end-time doctrines and beliefs is always useful and even necessary. Time always makes us re-evaluate cherished notions anyway. I do take my hat off to this author for daring to challenge some holy cows, or should I say holy bulls. For the purpose of his examination the writer deals with five events which are interpreted to be (past or future) fulfillments of scriptural predictions: (1) The rebirth of the State of Israel in 1948; (2) The rebuilding of the third Temple in Jerusalem; (3) The seven year Great Tribulation; (4) The Antichrist and (5) Armageddon. I do agree with the writer about "not being carried away by every wind of doctrine". Unfortunately there are many religious organizations that are built on the sandy ground of end-time doctrines, and not upon the Rock and the Elohim of Israel. Im not going to try and support, or refute, the understanding on these issues proposed in the book. Nor am I trying to convince you one way or the other. You can buy the book, or borrow from someone and decide for yourself. I do, however, want to address one issue: Are there two Israels? If there are two Israels in the scriptures, it would only stand to reason that there may be also two Avrahams, two Yitzhaks and two Ya'acovs. In other letters we have explored the concept of the Greek mind and compared it to Hebraic thought. The former is always dividing and pigeonholing everything, but the latter keeps things integrated. When it comes to scripture interpretation we will find, as our minds are renewed, that our understanding of the text will also change. Thus, the case in point: Are there two Israels, or has the Hellenistic thinking created two? If God has two Israels then he also has two brides. Is this a scripturally sound idea? Let me offer a simple Hebraic thought; a seed is comprised of three parts- a hard outer shell, a middle soft fleshy part, and an embryo. Although three partite, yet it is one seed. The tabernacle, which God revealed to Moses for the purpose of helping us understand what we ourselves look like, had also three parts; an outer court area, a holy place and a holy of holies. All three of these are important in understanding the one dwelling place of the Spirit. If any one part is missing the whole structure becomes dysfunctional. So it is with Israel, there are not two Israels. There is a body and a soul of Israel, which has been labeled the natural Yaacov, but let us not forget, the third part, the spirit - Yisrael. Under no circumstances are we to dissect the spirit out of the body and put it into a formaldehyde jar, labeling it the church. You may be able to preserve it for a long time, but it will certainly be devoid of life. YHWH promised Avraham multitudes of seed (with all three parts), but only one of them would be the promised one, Yitzhak (see Rom. 9:7-9), from whom would originate a chosen nation Yaacov (Rom. 9:11). The covenant that YHWH made with the forefathers He also made with their descendents, regardless of distances of time and location. We must keep in mind that YHWHs plan and timing may be hidden form us. We may only see through a glass darkly, nevertheless, a part of the covenant that the Elohim of Israel has made with the house of Ya'acov or two Houses,(Joseph and Judah) is that He would dwell in them. Now through the redemptive work of the kinsman redeemer, Yeshua, YHWH has called out a first fruit of Israels race to be His dwelling place. The fact that the Spirit has taken up residence in the tabernacle of Yaacov, or the House of Yaacov, does not mean that the outer court and holy place have ceased to exist. If you are one of those possessing His Spirit within you, the next time you stand in front of the mirror, ask yourself if it is an elusion of a physical body, which is neither male nor female, Jew nor Greek, black or white, which you are staring at. I would encourage those of you who are only spiritual not to disconnect the Spirit of the Messiah from its earthly dwelling or house. It was ordained when YHWH swore by Himself to Avraham, Yitzhak and Yaacov that we, their heirs according to the promise, would stand as a testimony of His life within us. We do not have to separate Israel into two different entities in order to understand end-time doctrines. All it takes is just to know that Abba has a harvesting-principle of first-fruit, after which all the rest will follow. The Israel of today is like a two-sided coin; one side is a Yaacov-Yisrael that is yet to come to the knowledge of YHWHs redemptive plan, whereas the other, by His Grace, has and is experiencing the reality of that finished work. Let us not be in too big of a hurry to put the dots and tittles on the Word of God. Rather, let us keep an open heart to the Spirits instructions as we continue in our relationship with Abba and His Son, the Word of Life. Two Rainbows Bill Burns January 2, 2000: This morning as Marsha and I drove to church, the Lord showed us a sign. As we looked into the eastern sky we saw two rainbows in the form of vertical pillars--one on either side of the sun. When God gives us rainbows in this manner, they have always been signs which confirm the Lord's covenant promises. The number two in this sign is significant. January 2 in the year 2000 is a reminder of the word of the Lord to us in 1999 that speaks of unity with the Master. On October 28, 1999, the Lord gave me a word about Jachin and Boaz (two pillars). The Lord said, "I am calling My pillars forth." These are represented by the two rainbows on either side of the sun. The pillars are necessary to the building of the temple in these last days that will hold up the Capstone (Jesus) with shouts of truth and grace. The two pillars (rainbows) represent the two witnesses who stand by the Lord of the whole earth. They are likened to the two witnesses of Revelation 11:3-4, and they are likened to the two olive trees of Zechariah 4:11-14 that produce the golden oil that drips into the receptacles (hands of the Lord) of the golden pipes that light the lampstand (Jesus filled with the seven spirits of God). This sign is God's promise to fulfill His prophetic word concerning the pillars, two witnesses (man and woman), the two anointed ones who stand beside the Lord to do His will. Two Sources of Wisdom Mike Forest The Word of God makes it clear that the wisdom of man is foolishness unto God. On the other hand, Jesus Christ is the wisdom of God, and He has been made unto us wisdom. The Holy Spirit is called "the Spirit of wisdom". The powers of darkness also have a wisdom that they can impart unto man. This is clearly seen by the knowledge that is imparted to those who operate in the occult. The question that we should ask ourselves is "whose wisdom are we walking in", the wisdom of God, the wisdom of man, or the wisdom that proceeds from the powers of darkness? Jesus said that if you want to know the source from which a man is operating, then we need to be fruit inspectors. One of the best ways to check out the fruit of a person is to listen to what is coming out of their mouths. Jesus makes this abundantly clear from the following scriptures: "Either make the tree good, and his fruit good: or else make the tree corrupt, and his fruit corrupt: for the tree is known by his fruit. O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil speak good things? For out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh. A good man out of the good treasure of the heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of the evil treasure bringeth forth evil things." (Matt.12:33-35). In light of the above scriptures, it is a contradiction for a born again man or woman to speak words of death, because the child of God has been given a new heart or spirit that is the dwelling place of the Holy Spirit. If the tree is known by it's fruit, how can we claim to be children of God, when we praise God in one breath, and gossip about our neighbor in the next? "Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? let him show out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. But if you have bitter envying and strife in your hearts, glory not, and lie not against the truth. This wisdom descends not from above, but is earthly, sensual, devilish. For where envying and strife is; there is confusion and every evil work. But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peaceable, gentle, and easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits, without partiality, and without hypocrisy." (James3:13-17). From these passages of scripture we can clearly see that there is a wisdom that proceeds from the world, the flesh, and the devil that produces the fruit of strife and envy, which results in confusion and every evil work. There is another wisdom that proceeds from God that produces good fruit. We know that the enemy is behind all of the division and strife that we see in the church today, but this is no excuse for a child of God to walk in these things. Even though the church at Corinth excelled in the spiritual gifts, the apostle Paul had to rebuke this church as being carnal (of the flesh). "For you are yet carnal: for whereas there is among you envying, and strife, and divisions, are you not carnal, and walk as men?" (1Cor.3:3). Much of the strife and division that is evident in the church today is a result of Christians walking in the flesh. Galatians 5 deals with the works of the flesh and the fruit of the Spirit. The apostle says that if we would walk in the Spirit, that we would not fulfill the lusts of the flesh. One of the essential elements in walking in the Spirit is walking the love walk. Jesus gave us two great commandments to obey. The Lord said that if we would obey these commandments then we would fulfill the law. Walking after the flesh is essentially to sin against the law of love. All forms of contention, strife, and backbiting in the church of the Lord Jesus Christ are sins of the flesh and result in broken fellowship between the saints of God. Most sincere Christians wouldn't think of participating in the works of the flesh such as fornication and adultery, yet many of these same Christians will get in strife and contention with their brother or sister in the Lord, and not think anything of it. It is very informative to look at the works of the flesh in Galatians 5 and observe how many of them are a result of walking in the wisdom that is earthly, sensual, and devilish. Envying, murders, wrath, and strife are all mentioned as works of the flesh. Most of us know the meaning of these things, but here are some works of the flesh that I looked up the meaning in the Strong's concordance. This will help to shed some light on the subject at hand. (Variance)- A quarrel, wrangling, contention, debate, strife. (Emulations)- heat, (which could mean hot headed), zeal (in a bad sense). jealousy, malice, envy, indignation. (Seditions)- Disunion, dissension, division. All of the division and strife that we see in the Body of Christ today is demonically inspired and affects those Christians that are walking after the flesh. "From whence come wars and fightings among you? Come they not hence, even of your lusts, that war in your members?" (James 4:1). "This I say then, walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfill the lusts of the flesh." (Galatians 5:16). Walking in the Spirit is walking the love walk. It is allowing Jesus (who is love) to love through us. "For all the law is fulfilled in one word, even in this; Thou shall love thy neighbor as thyself." (Galatians 5:14). "If we say that we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness, we lie, and do not the truth: But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the Blood of Jesus cleanses us from all sin." (1John 1:6). The wisdom that proceeds from above is that wisdom that Christ imparts to us by giving us Himself. It is the wisdom that is pure, peaceable, gentle, easy to be entreated, full of mercy and good fruits. Two Sides of Rest Ching Co Febuary 10,2000 Beloved Children of God, THE IMPORTANCE OF REST: These past days, the Lord has been reminding me about the importance of rest to us. That failing to understand and observe this in our lives will be detrimental to our well-being. However, due to various pressures that God's people are facing in these days, many of us have overlooked this resulting to great harm and confusion overtaking us. Even Jesus Himself rested often during His ministry and He also encouraged His disciples to rest. In Mark 6:30-32 we will find this story. " The apostles gathered around Jesus and reported to him all they had done and taught. Then, because so many people were coming and going that they did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them. " Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest. So they went away by themselves in a boat to a solitary place." WHAT IS THE REST OF GOD Understanding and experiencing God's rest are two different things. Many of us try to rest and do various activities which we construed as resting, but at times we still come out not rested. Our physical body maybe resting, but our mind and spirit are fretting. True rest in God does not depend on outward circumstances. It is being able to enter into the inner sanctuary of the most High despites the battles and problems that we faced and finding refreshment in Him. This will not be automatic, it will need an abundance of God's grace and also discipline from our part. We must learn to shut out all other voices shouting for our attention during these times. The coming days will be turbulent days. The day of the Lord will be an exciting time to be living in. It will be full of activities both from God and from the enemy. It is important that God's people learn to access this special provision of the Father. Unless we learn how to rest in God, we will not stand with Him when that day comes. PERSONAL TESTIMONY I don't normally like to share personal testimony in public post, but somehow the Lord has impressed upon my heart to share about these particular events for it will help make understanding about God's rest easier to those to whom this message is intended. Last 1997, what I thought was an ordinary sore in my tongue turned out to be cancerous. In God's perfect timing, we discovered and removed it before it can spread further. The doctor cut away a portion of my tongue and after two weeks of recuperation. He send me to another city to undergo radiation treatment. God has given us a prophetic word in that area before this happened so when all this was happening to me, I was very strong spiritually. The peace of God was much evident and even the joy of the Lord. Many times I will be surprised at the laughter that comes out from within me in the midst of the pain. So I really felt very strong throughout this whole period. Towards the middle of the radiation treatment, all the physical symptoms began to appear. Destruction of the taste buds, nausea, no saliva, difficulty of swallowing, gasping for breath, pain. And all these began to take it's toll on me physically. But I remained strong and high spirited during the whole ordeal. Daily I was confessing to myself, "I can do this. I can take it. I am a child of God. He is with me." However as the days progress the more difficult the physical discomfort becomes. One day it finally dawn on me that something is very wrong. So instead of the usual positive confession coming out from my mouth- I found myself crying out to God. " Lord, I cannot do it anymore. Unless you come and take over." Then the most amazing realization dawn upon me which comes through a vision. God showed me that in the past weeks of my ordeal. I was holding on tightly to God. But at this last stage, I let go of my hand and instead of me holding on to God, I found that He is holding my hands. He carried me in His arms. Finally, I have understood what resting in God meant. Not only did I understand it, but I was experiencing it for the first time in the midst of the worst physical circumstances. A well known preacher once described this as resting faith. For the rest of the treatment time, I entered it from another arena. I was no longer trying but I was totally resting in Him. The Father carried me through day by day and it was the most glorious time of rest that I've ever had. I was not doing anything but He was doing everything for me. I don't have the word to fully explain what was taking place inside of me. But it was real and something beautiful was happening inside my soul. In the midst of my desolation. My soul was resting and it was being refreshed by the Father Himself. Oh what a glorious time that has been. GOD'S MESSAGE My people, do not be distracted by the many things taking place in your midst. I am God and I am who I say I am. No one can stand before me. He brought up 2Thessalonians 2. This is one of those passages which the church usually does not look at in the spirit. There may indeed be a literal manifestation of the occurrences which is referred to here, but these things will (and are) occurring in the spiritual realm and we must be able to recognize what we are seeing. 2:3 says, "Don't let anyone deceive you in any way, for that day will not come until the rebellion occurs and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the man doomed to destruction. He will oppose and will exalt himself over everything that is called God or is worshipped, so that he sets himself up in God's temple, proclaiming to be God." God, of course is the only just and righteous judge. As Jesus, our Intercessor and 'lawyer' represents us to the Father, He perpetually declares our innocence. Satan, as our accuser and prosecutor perpetually declares our guilt. We have the choice to make whether to align ourselves with what Jesus and His ultimate sacrifice say that we (and others) are, or with what satan says about us and others. Discernment is given by the Holy Spirit, but we cannot judge righteously unless we know what Jesus and the Father are saying about the situation we have been given discernment in. To try and make my point, the manifestation of 'imperfection' that you are observing (we are seeing it, too) is because the secret power of lawlessness has already been at work, but it is now being revealed at the proper time. As in the beginning, God is again separating light and darkness, soul and spirit. But, hallelujah!! The promise is that when the man of lawlessness is revealed, then the Day of the Lord will come. I agree with you heartily that we must not walk according to what we perceive in the natural realm. I believe that we need to rethink our ideas about intercession, just as we have had to rethink spiritual warfare. I believe that true intercession is doing what our great Intercessor, Jesus, does for us--in faith we must believe and proclaim that we are innocent because of Jesus' perfect sacrifice. If we are already made perfect, then our brothers and sisters are made perfect also. We must sit in the heavenly realm with Jesus our brother and with God our Father and proclaim their innocence and receive in their behalf what they are as yet incapable of receiving for themselves. We must oftentimes go a step beyond that, and proclaim what God says. Discernment can come from the Holy Spirit, but it always comes with a Provision. Even in the worst situations of carnal attitudes and fleshly 'stuff' that we will see, it is crucial to speak His Word-- whether logos or rhema to that situation, because it is that Word that will destroy the 'man of lawlessness'.
