There is a tab across the top of the home page that says LEARNING MATERIALS

○ here kids can play games on a number of topics○ each game lists the standards the game teaches

students/teachers can access site from home computer or smart phones

TEACHER RESOURCES tab at top of home page

● scroll down to orange box and you can look for lessons that fit essential standards● scroll down to “search boxes” and you can add a search box to school’s web site page● Under training Materials there is a 7 minute powerpoint that can be used to share

information with the staff.

EXPLORE TOPICS section:

grade level● some videos include Flash, which is not supported by iPads● Thumbnail pictures next to articles can be hovered over to zoom in on pieces of the

picture

WORLD Atlas provides maps of world, continents, etc.

○ Advanced atlas features satellite imagery to view landforms such as underwater mountain ranges

PRIMARY SOURCES and e-books are located in the HIGH SCHOOL link at the very bottom of that page

CREATE A WORKSPACE

● Workspace tab at top of home window● create a workspace, open a workspace, share a work space● like a file cabinet of articles and videos, pictures etc that you want to save in one spot

● can save “about” 10 or fewer projects per workspace● can create multiple workspaces● to share with students they need your user name

Media Specialists can put search boxes on their web siteif there is a proxy issue they are happy to clear it up for you
