Ruukki is a metal expert you can rely on all the way, whenever you need metal based materials, components, systems or total solutions. We constantly develop our product range and operating
models to match your needs.
Line pipesSteel tubes suitable for welding and threading
EN 10255, S195T
Ruukki is one of the largest manufacturers of welded steel tubes and pipes in Europe.
Steel tubes suitable for welding and threading are manufactured according to European
standard EN 10255 of steel grade S 195 T. Dimension range is 17,2 114,3 mm. The tubes
are supplied in wall thicknesses to L2, medium (M) and heavy (H) series. If needed, tubes are
threaded according to ISO 7/1. Tubes are suitable for galvanizing and for cold bending.
Applications
water pipe lines in which connections are for the most part threaded
indoor line pipe installations for cold and hot water distribution
sprinkler system (often with grooved ends for special couplings f.e.Victualic)
compressed air distribution
indoor city gas distribution
several construction purposes in industries, gardens, houses, trafc systems, stables etc.

Steel tubes suitable for welding and threading. EN 10255, S195T
General
Steel tubes suitable for threading are used mainly for
water pipelines in which connections are for the most
part threaded. Tubes are also suitable for connection
by welding. Unless otherwise specied the tubes will
be supplied bare with plain ends. The tube ends are cut
nominally square to the axis of the tube and they are
free from excessive burrs.
Chemical composition and mechanical properties
Steel tubes are manufactured according to European
standard EN 10255 of steel grade S 195 T. The che-
mical composition and the mechanical properties will
conform to the requirements of Table 1.
NOTE: The steel specied in this document is weldable,
however when subsequently welding tubes produced
according to this document account should be taken of
the fact that the behaviour of the steel during and after
welding is dependent not only on the steel but also
on the conditions of preparing for and carrying out the
welding.
Dimensions, masses and tolerances
The tubes are supplied with wall thicknesses to L2,
medium (M) and heavy (H) series. Series M and H are
delivered as cold-formed or hot stretch reduced. Type
L2 is delivered as hot stretch reduced. Specied outside
diameters (D), wall thicknesses (T) and masses per unit
length are listed in Table 2
For welded tubes the tolerance on wall thickness is:
10 % for M and H series
- 8 % with the plus tolerance limited by the mass
tolerance, for L2.
The mass tolerance on welded tubes is:
7,5 % on bundles of 10 tons or more, for M and H
series
+ 10 % - 8 % on individual tubes for L2.
The external weld bead of electric welded tubes is trim-
med to an essentially ush condition.
The height of the internal weld seam of welded tubes
will not exceed 60 % of the specied wall thickness (T).
The tubes are supplied in the standard length of 6 m
-0 +50 mm. Alternative type of length can be specied
by the purchaser at the time of enquiry and order.
Inspection documents
Tubes are supplied with an inspection document type
2.2., in accordance with EN 10204.
Leak tightness
Tubes (before threading) are tested for leak-tightness by
electro-magnetic test in accordance with EN 10246-1.
Tube ends
Unless otherwise specied the tubes will be supplied
with plain ends. The tube ends are cut nominally square
to the axis of the tube and they are free from excessive
burrs. If needed, tubes can be threaded according to
ISO 7/1. Tube can be supplied with one socket per tube.
The socket is in accordance with EN 10241.
Surface protection
The tubes are supplied bare or with a temporary protec-
tive coating according to customer choice.
Marking
Tubes are marked ink stencilled with following informa-
tion, example:
Series H: WIRSBO SS-EN10255 H W / WIRSBO
Series M: WIRSBO SS-EN10255 M W / WIRSBO
Tubes according to heavy (H) series are normally
painted red. Tubes according to medium (M) series
are normally painted blue. Tubes can be delivered also
bare, without color paint.
Bundeling
The tubes are delivered in hexagonal bundles.
Bundle sizes are listed in Table 3.
