1.2 General Safety• Do not change the specification of this appliance.• If the tumble dryer is put on top of a washing machine,
use the stacking kit. The stacking kit, available fromyour authorized vendor, can be used only with theappliance specified in the instructions supplied withthe accessory. Read it carefully before installation(refer to the Installation leaflet).
• The appliance can be installed as freestanding orbelow a kitchen counter with correct space (refer tothe Installation leaflet).
• Do not install the appliance behind a lockable door, asliding door or a door with a hinge on the oppositeside, that would prevent the appliance door from beingfully open.
• The ventilation opening in the base must not becovered by a carpet, mat, or any floor covering.
• WARNING: The appliance must not be suppliedthrough an external switching device, such as a timer,or connected to a circuit that is regularly switched onand off by a utility.
• Connect the mains plug to the mains socket only atthe end of the installation process. Make sure that themains plug is accessible after installation.
• If the mains power supply cable is damaged, it mustbe replaced by the manufacturer, its AuthorisedService Centre or similarly qualified persons to avoidan electrical hazard.
• Do not exceed the maximum load of 8 kg (refer to the"Programme chart" chapter).

• Do not use the appliance if items have been soiledwith industrial chemicals.
• Wipe away lint or packaging debris that hasaccumulated around the appliance.
• Do not run the appliance without a filter. Clean the lintfilter before or after each use.
• Do not dry unwashed items in the tumble dryer.• Items that have been soiled with substances such as
cooking oil, acetone, alcohol, petrol, kerosene, spotremovers, turpentine, waxes and wax removersshould be washed in hot water with an extra amount ofdetergent before being dried in the tumble dryer.
• Items such as foam rubber (latex foam), shower caps,waterproof textiles, rubber backed articles and clothesor pillows fitted with foam rubber pads should not bedried in the tumble dryer.
• Fabric softeners, or similar products, should only beused as specified by the product manufacturer’sinstructions.
• Remove all objects from items that could be a sourceof fire ignition such as lighters or matches.
• WARNING: Never stop a tumble dryer before the endof the drying cycle unless all items are quicklyremoved and spread out so that the heat is dissipated.
• Before any maintenance operation, deactivate theappliance and disconnect the mains plug from thesocket.
2. CONDITIONS OF USEThis appliance is intended to be used inhousehold and similar applications suchas:• Farm houses
• By clients in serviced apartments,holiday apartments and otherresidential type environments.

• Do not install or use the appliancewhere the temperature can be lowerthan 5°C or higher than 35°C.
• The floor area on which the applianceis to be installed must be flat, stable,heat resistant and clean.
• Make sure that there is air circulationbetween the appliance and the floor.
• Always keep the appliance verticalwhen it is being moved.
• The rear surface of the appliancemust be put against a wall.
• When the appliance is in itspermanent position, check if it islevelled correctly with the aid of aspirit level. If it is not, adjust the feetaccordingly.
3.2 Electrical connectionWARNING!Risk of fire and electricshock.
• The appliance must be earthed.• Make sure that the parameters on the
rating plate are compatible with theelectrical ratings of the mains powersupply.
• Always use a correctly installedshockproof socket.
• Do not use multi-plug adapters andextension cables.
• Do not pull the mains cable todisconnect the appliance. Always pullthe mains plug.
• Do not touch the mains cable or themains plug with wet hands.
• This appliance complies with theE.E.C. Directives.
3.3 UseWARNING!Risk of injury, electric shock,fire, burns or damage to theappliance.
• Do not dry the damaged items whichcontain padding or fillings.
• Only dry fabrics which are applicableto dry in the tumble dryer. Follow theinstructions on the fabric label.
• If you have washed your laundry witha stain remover start an extra rinsecycle before you start the dryer.
• Do not drink or prepare food with thecondensed water/distilled water. It cancause health problems to people andpets.
• Do not sit or stand on the open door.• Do not dry dripping wet clothes in the
tumble dryer.• Oil-affected items can ignite
spontaneously, especially whenexposed to heat sources such as in atumble dryer. The items becomewarm, causing an oxidation reactionin the oil. Oxidation creates heat. Ifthe heat cannot escape, the items canbecome hot enough to catch fire.Piling, stacking or storing oil-affecteditems can prevent heat from escapingand create a fire hazard.
• If it is unavoidable that fabrics thatcontain vegetable or cooking oil orhave been contaminated by hair careproducts be placed in a tumble dryerthey should first be washed in hotwater with extra detergent -this willreduce, but not eliminate, the hazard.
3.4 Care and cleaningWARNING!Risk of injury or damage tothe appliance.
• Do not use water spray and steam toclean the appliance.
• Clean the appliance with a moist softcloth. Only use neutral detergents. Donot use any abrasive products,abrasive cleaning pads, solvents ormetal objects.

Authorised Service Centre.• Use original spare parts only.

7. OPTIONS7.1 Dryness LevelThis function helps to increase drynessof the laundry. There are 3 options:• Extra Dry• Cupboard Dry• Iron Dry
7.2 Gentle DryWith this option you can set a delicatedrying programme that has a lowtemperature. Use this option with afabrics that have the symbol on thefabric label (e.g. acrylic, viscose).
7.3 Extra AnticreaseExtends the anti-crease phase by 60minutes at the end of the drying cycle.
This function reduces creases. Thelaundry can be removed during the anti-crease phase.
7.4 Time DryYou can set the programme duration,from a minimum of 10 minutes to amaximum of 2 hours. The requiredduration is related to the quantity oflaundry in the appliance.
We recommend that you seta short duration for smallquantities of laundry or foronly one item.

8.1 Child lock functionThis option prevents children playing withthe appliance while a programme isoperating. The touch buttons are locked.Only the on/off button is unlocked.
Activating the child lock option:1. Press the on/off button to activate the
appliance.
2. Press and hold touch button (D) for afew seconds.
The child lock indicator comes on.It is possible to deactivatethe child lock option while aprogramme operates. Pressand hold the same touchbuttons until the child lockindicator goes off. The ChildLock function isn't availablefor 8 s after switching on theappliance.
8.2 Favourite You can do your configuration ofprogramme and options and memorise inthe appliance memory.
To memorise yourconfiguration:1. Press the on/off button to activate the

options.3. Press the (E) button for some

8.3 Adjustment of remaininglaundry moistureThe appliance allows you to chosebetween 3 levels corresponding todifferent ranges of water hardness.

Depending on the country, the waterhardness is expressed in equivalentscales: e.g. French degrees (°f), Germandegrees (°d), English degrees (°e),mmol/l and ppmIf necessary, please contact your localwater authority to check the waterhardness in your area.
Every time you enter in the"Adjustment of remaininglaundry moisture" mode,previously set degree ofremaining moisture willchange into next value ( e.gpreviously set willchange into ).
To change the default degree ofremaining moisture:
1. Press the on/off button to activate theappliance.
2. Use the programme knob to set anyprogramme.
3. Wait approximately 8 seconds.4. Press and hold buttons (E) and (D) at
the same time.One of these indicators comes on:
• the maximum dryness• the more dry laundry• the standard dry laundry
5. Press and hold buttons (E) and (D)again until the indicator of the correctlevel comes on.
If the display returns tothe normal mode (thetime of the selectedprogramme from step 2.will be displayed), whilesetting the degree ofremaining moisture,press and hold buttons(E) and (D) once againto enter to the"Adjustment of remaininglaundry moisture" mode(previously set degree ofremaining moisture willchange into next value).
6. After 5 s the display returns to normalmode.
8.4 Water container indicatorBy default, the water container indicatoris on. It comes on when the programmeis completed or when it is necessary toempty the water container.
If a draining kit is installed(additional accessory), theappliance automaticallydrains the water from thewater container. In this casewe recommend that youdeactivate the indicator ofthe water container.
Deactivating the watercontainer indicator:1. Press the on/off button to activate the
appliance.

• The display shows "Off". After 5 sthe display returns to normalmode.
• The display shows "On". After 5 sthe display returns to normalmode.
8.5 Buzzer on/offTo deactivate or activate the acousticsignals, press and hold for approximately2 seconds touch buttons (E) and (F) atthe same time.
9. BEFORE FIRST USEBefore you use the appliance for the firsttime:• Clean the tumble dryer drum with a
moist cloth.
• Start a 1 hour programme with moistlaundry.
10. DAILY USE10.1 Start a programme withoutdelay start1. Prepare the laundry and load the
appliance. CAUTION!Make sure that whenyou close the door, thelaundry does not getcaught between theappliance door and therubber seal.
2. Press the on/off button to activate theappliance.
3. Set the correct programme andoptions for the type of load.
The display shows the programmeduration.
The drying time you see onthe display, when the cottonprogramme is selected, isrelated to the load of 5 kgand standard conditions .Real drying time will dependon type of the load (quantityand composition), the roomtemperature and thehumidity of your laundryafter spin drying phase.
4. Press the Start/Pause touch button.The programme starts.
10.2 Starting the programmewith delay start1. Set the correct programme and
options for the type of load.2. Press the delay start button again
and again until the display shows thedelay time you want to set.
You can delay the startof a programme from aminimum of 30 minutesto a maximum of 20hours.
3. Press the Start/Pause touch button.The display shows the countdown of thedelay start.When the countdown is completed, theprogramme starts.
10.3 Change a programme1. Press the on/off button to deactivate
appliance2. Press the on/off button to activate the
appliance.3. Set the programme.
10.4 At the end of theprogrammeWhen the programme is completed:

• An intermittent acoustic signaloperates.
• The display shows • The indicator is on.• The indicators Filter and Tank
may come on.• The Start/Pause indicator is on.The appliance continues to operate withthe anti-crease phase for approximately30 minutes or more if Extra Anticreaseoption was set (see chapter Option -Extra Anticrease ).The anti-crease phase reduces creasing.You can remove the laundry before theanti-crease phase is completed. Werecommend, for better results, that youremove the laundry when the phase isalmost completed.When the anti-crease phase iscompleted:
• The display still shows
• The indicator is off.• The indicators Filter and Tank
remain on.• Start/Pause indicator goes off.1. Press the on/off button to deactivate
the appliance.2. Open the appliance door.3. Remove the laundry.4. Close the appliance door.
Always clean the filter andempty the water containerwhen a programme iscompleted.
10.5 Stand-by functionTo reduce energy consumption, thisfunction automatically deactivates theappliance:• After 5 minutes if you do not start the
programme.• After 5 minutes from the end of the
programme.
11. HINTS AND TIPS11.1 Preparing the laundry• Close the zips.• Close the fasteners of duvet covers.• Do not dry ties or ribbons loose (e.g.
apron ribbons). Tie them before youstart a programme.
• Remove all items from pockets.• Turn items with the internal layer
made of cotton inside out. Cottonlayer must be faced outwards.
• Always set the programme suitablefor the type of laundry.
• Do not put light and dark colourstogether.
• Use suitable programme for cottons,jersey and knitwear to reduceshrinkage.
• Do not exceed the maximum loadstated in the programmes chapter orshown on the display.
• Dry only the laundry that is suitablefor tumble drying. Refer to the fabriclabel on the items.
• Do not dry large and small itemstogether. Small items can be trappedinside the large items and remain wet.

12.4 Cleaning the drumWARNING!Disconnect the appliancebefore you clean it.
Use a standard neutral soap detergent toclean the inner surface of the drum anddrum lifters. Dry the cleaned surfaceswith a soft cloth.
CAUTION!Do not use abrasivematerials or steel wool toclean the drum.
12.5 Cleaning the control paneland housingUse a standard neutral soap detergent toclean the control panel and housing.
Use a moist cloth to clean. Dry thecleaned surfaces with a soft cloth.
CAUTION!Do not use furniture cleaningagents or cleaning agentswhich can cause corrosion.
12.6 Cleaning the airflow slotsUse a vacuum cleaner to remove flufffrom the airflow slots.
13. TROUBLESHOOTINGProblem Possible solutionYou cannot activate the appliance. Make sure that the mains plug is connec‐
ted to the mains socket.
Check fuse in fuse box (domestic installa‐tion).
The programme does not start. Press Start/Pause.
Make sure that the appliance door isclosed.
The appliance door does not close. Make sure that the installation of the filteris correct.
Make sure that the laundry is not caughtbetween the appliance door and the rub‐ber seal.
The appliance stops during operation. Make sure that the water container isempty. Press Start/Pause to start the pro‐gramme again.
Load is too small, increase the load oruse the Time Drying programme.
The cycle time is too long or unsatisfacto‐ry drying result.1)
Make sure that the weight of the laundryis suitable for the duration of the pro‐gramme.

6. Proof of purchase is required beforeyou can make a claim under thiswarranty.
7. Exclusions: You may not make aclaim under this warranty unless thedefect claimed is due to faulty ordefective parts or workmanship. Thiswarranty does not cover:a) light globes, batteries, filters or
similar perishable parts;b) parts and Appliances not
supplied by Electrolux;c) cosmetic damage which does not
affect the operation of theAppliance;
d) damage to the Appliance causedby:1. negligence or accident;2. misuse or abuse, including
failure to properly maintain orservice;
3. improper, negligent or faultyservicing or repair worksdone by anyone other thanan Electrolux authorisedrepairer or ASC;
4. normal wear and tear;5. power surges, electrical
storm damage or incorrectpower supply;
6. incomplete or improperinstallation;
7. incorrect, improper orinappropriate operation;
8. insect or vermin infestation;9. failure to comply with any
additional instructionssupplied with the Appliance;
In addition, Electrolux is not liableunder this warranty if:a. the Appliance has been, or

9. Australia: For Appliances andservices provided by Electrolux inAustralia: Electrolux goods come withguarantees that cannot be excludedunder the Australian Consumer Law.You are entitled to a replacement orrefund for a major failure and forcompensation for any otherreasonably foreseeable loss ordamage.
