CoatingProtected by Castolin Eutectic coatings

We have been innovators in coating technology for over 40 years with deposition equipment and powder alloys. Surface coating has now be-come a proven technology to improve the properties of materials subjected to severe physical and chemical ex-posure. It has found applications in fields as diverse as the mining, waste, energy production, glass, cement and automotive industries.

With its extensive experience of re-furbishing and protecting your in-dustrial equipment and breaking new ground in wearfacing technolo-gies, Castolin Eutectic continues to lead the way. We offer a wide range of high quality consumables in the form of powders and highly alloyed spray wires, which allows the deposit of me-tallic, ceramic, organic and composite coatings. We have a wide range of delivery systems such as flame spray,

Boiler coating with Arc Wire

flame fuse, Arc Spray, PTA and HVOF equipment available.

Castolin Eutectic offers the total so-lution, which includes the consuma-bles, the equipment and the know-how to apply the coating. In addition, high tech vacuum fused coatings can be produced in our CastoLab® Serv-ices facilities. From micron thin coat-ings on precision components to thick coatings on large surfaces we have a breadth of solutions.

EuTronic® GapHighest precision and quality

Plasma Transferred Arc (PTA) is a modern technology that is finding a growing place in the wearfacing and joining technology, Castolin Eu-tectic’s homeland. PTA is hybrid of welding and coating with near laser quality but with welding’s practical-ity and cost.

As one of the pioneers in PTA, with more than 45 years experience and over 300 units in the field, we have recently developed a new range comprising the small hand held units, fully automated units and the world’s most powerful heavy duty unit, the IMPA torch. The new units feature touch screens, internet control, special feeders, extension torches, seamless connectivity to full robotic systems and customer spe-cific production units. Detailed com-puter modelling of the gas and pow-

der flows in the plasma stream have taken this technology to a new level to include PTA brazing with powder or wire. The units work with a wide range of powders but optimal results are obtained using tailored unique gas atomized powder EuTroLoy®.

CDP®&CastoTube®Worldwide leader

One becomes leader in Wear and Fu-sion Technologies by listening to cus-tomers and providing new solutions. Responding to the need to produce large wearfaced surfaces quicker than by manual welding, we manufactured our first “WearPlate” with a robotized unit 17 years ago. Today we run more than 26 such units around the world and provide the widest range of wear-plates on the market under the brand name CastoDur Diamond Plates® (CDP®).

These composite materials consist of a steel plate overlaid with abrasion and

erosion resistant alloys by means of arc welding, metal fusion or plasma coating. Innovations have included the patented powder fused plate, the first XuperWave® weld bead concept, PTA overlay plates with 60% Tungsten Car-bide, the first impact resistant plates and first oriented crystal structure. To-day, our new innovations also include novel ways to design and construct complex components and “ready for service” prepared parts with these new materials. The latest innovation is called CastoTube®. Although large diameter internally welded tubes can

be produced, smaller diameter seam-less wearfaced tubes were not avail-able until CastoTube®’s development. CastoTube® are continuing to be de-veloped to have even smaller diam-eters and can now be made with 82 mm diameter and up to 6 meters long; a world first.

A new production concept was realised based on the proven CDP® technology but which avoids expensive forming operations of flat plates. The unique powder fused plate gives a smooth sur-face, thin section and flat engineering plate for corrosion and wear resistance.

BrazingSpecialized joining needed ?

Brazing is a special process that pro-duces strong joints at low tempera-tures, obtained through a diffusion process with no melting of the base metal. The advantages of brazing are obvious: Assembly of very differ-ent metal types is possible within a large range of temperatures. Diverse means of heating. The low melt-ing point of our filler metals allows heat-treated parts to be worked

with. Castolin Eutectic is a pioneer and worldwide leading supplier of brazing products. Our vast product range includes a wide selection of filler metals in forms of diverse rods, wires, rings, foils, pastes and special pre-forms to meet all your OEM and maintenance requirements. Specially formulated fluxes and specialized equipment are also part of our prod-uct range all developed and manu-factured internally.

The application scope of brazing technology is almost unlimited: Sani-tary and air condition technology, drilling tools, electronics, bicycle in-dustry, oil exploration, food and bev-erage industry, automotive manufac-ture and the plastics industry.

From wear resistant overlays, to maintenance and repair joining or to complex mass production joining, the unique and innovative history of Castolin Eutectic Brazing is at your service.

DistributionSelling through Special shops and DIY stores

Our traditional customers are not just OEMs, heavy plants, workshops but also individual craftsmen who appreciate the quality and ease of use of our products. These craftsmen have different working and purchas-ing patterns so we developed a par-allel sales organisation. Today they can purchase our products through your distribution network (including DIY) that have locations and open-ing hours more suited to their busi-ness. As a distributor you are usually a one stop shop or niche specialist

selling a whole range of products to the craftsmen. In many countries, we have made a major investment in un-derstanding your needs, hiring and training the right staff to support your sales and developing the right products especially adapted to the distribution market. Our sales staff consists of highly skilled and experi-enced professionals from your distri-bution sector.

Our product range is constantly grow-ing and adapting to provide you with all joining solutions and wearfacing jobs plus all required accessories: pastes, fluxes, rods, electrodes, weld-ing equipment, masks, grinding disks, etc. An attractive packaging helps for the quick identification of the most suitable products. Moreover, special promotions that animate your sales are our daily routine. In order to opti-mize your valuable space we use spe-cialist software that replicates your floor plan and designs a custom dis-

CastoLab® ServicesDeveloping our CastoLab® Services network

Maintenance and repair is a highly technical and specialized business, which should be done by experienced experts to reduce risk and get the op-timum results. Facing the daily pro-duction problems and the shortage of skilled welders, many companies have already made the decision: they prefer to focus on their core competences and outsource maintenance & repair, wearfacing or production of wearfaced parts to competent external partners. Who better than the leaders in Repair and Maintenance technology - Casto-lin Eutectic.

CastoLab® Services offer a complete and comprehensive service for the maintenance of machine parts and major components subject to exten-sive service wear. Work can either be undertaken in our workshops or al-ternatively on site. CastoLab® Services utilise the latest welding, coating and brazing technologies plus innovative or normed materials. Many CastoLab®s are technology or industry specialists and are very innovative in choosing the best process, procedure and alloy.

Often the parts being repaired or pro-tected need to be produced on a regu-lar basis, and here “specialist prepared parts” can be produced in a unique manufacturing environment, from 10s of pieces to 100,000 pieces per year. The usual automated systems, QC, logistics requirements of a special-ist supplier are part of our culture. Our broad product range allows tailoring of the solution to the client’s needs.
