    Energy Management

    Demand Side Management

EMS--SCADA can achieve reductions in electricity costs through automated load shedding and all users ofelectrical energy are billed according to the total amount of energy used during each billing period. Thisstandard charge is specified as cost per Kwh of electricity used. In addition to standard charges,Utilities/SEBs frequently charge a surcharge too commercial/industrial users based on the peak demandduring the billing period.

EMS SCADA provides a means to prevent new peak demand levels from being set, thus reducing the peakdemand levels from being set, thus reducing the peak demand surcharges and hence energy costs. This isalso beneficial to utilities and SEB as they can sell the saved energy to other users and also avoid equipmenttripping due to overloading.

This software provides automated KVA, KW, KVAR or Amps control through the application of onboardpredictive demand control algorithm. This is achieved by monitoring real time power consumption, calculatingload trends and predicting the total power or energy used by the end of the demand time. Automated loadcontrol ensures energy consumption is maintained within user-definable peak demand limits.

Demand control is accomplished to using PLC relay outputs, which provide maximum demand setpointcontrol functions by tripping loads selectively. Thus, for instance, as maximum demand calculations exceedconsecutive set points, output loads can be tripped in sequence as per user defined priorities of the loadsand/or automatic start up and generators to be within the demand.

    Power Factor Correction

To the power distributing company/Utility, control of power factor prevents imbalances in the system and lineloss, thus saving energy. For users, abnormal power factor invite stiff penalties from the power distributingcompany/SEBs and is desirable to control.

EMS-SCADA will be able to generate relay output through PLCs to switch banks of capacitance (in differentcombination) to ensure compliance with power factor maintenance requirement of local SEB authorities.

    Load Programming

Load progaraming is for load dependant load switching on/off. Control is achived by EMS-SCADA throughPLCs which switch ON/OFF equipment in accordance with user defined time.

    Voltage Correction

In installation where frequent voltage fluctuations occur, voltage correction can be achieved through EMS-SCADA. Tap change in the transformer can be achieved though PLCs.

    Load Frequency Alarms

Load Frequency correlation has two major primary objectives - to maintain frequency at the scheduled rate tomaintain frequency at the scheduled rate and to maintain net power interchanges with neighbouring controlareas at the scheduled values.

    Customization

This software is user configurable to a great extent. This also can be totally customized according to therequirement of the end user.Owing to continuous developments, specifications/features are subject to change and upgrades without notice.
