The Progress Programme• Aimed at families where there is worklessness• The term family is more than two people (not necessarily with
children)• There must be an adult in receipt of a working age benefit to
qualify for Progress• More than one member of the family can be on Progress, but
they are all able to make individual choices• Linked to the Troubled Families agenda• Ideal for families who are just outside the TF agenda• Ideal for Work Programme returners• Supports adults to reduce their barriers to employment• Involves identifying individual targets and working towards
specific ‘Progress Measures’• There are 23 Progress Measures that cover a wide range of issues
The Progress ProgrammeWhat is involved?
• One to one intervention and support• Working with close partners to identify
candidates and support them to select Progress
• Starts with a coaching session – a warm hand over is preferred
• Progress measures achieved through one to one activity, cohort learning, work experience and volunteering.
