• One of the UK’s largest jobsites
• It matches a jobseeker’s CV and skills to
jobs that suit their needs.
• You will need to register with the online
service and provide an email address.

You will need to give your first name and
surname select a password and a valid
email address. This will create a
GOVERNMENT GATEWAY ACCOUNT

qualifications you will need. The skills in our big list are taken from
these sites and specifically Universal JobMatch to enable the program
to find matches.

personal skills onto the profile section.

You have 3 options on this site.
1. Use the build a CV tool
2. Upload your CV (Word or PDF)
3. Copy and paste your CV

Profile and CV, Why does this help?
• When an employer places a job vacancy, the
program will search through a jobseeker’s
profile and CV and make a match.
• When you conduct a job search, the program
will match the wording against the ‘skill’s
section of your profile.
• Ensure that the correct wording is on both your
profile and your CV to get the best matches.

2. You can use the search boxes

• Try and use a title that matches one
you’ve seen before.
• Try and use a skill that the program
recognises.
• If you aren’t sure about where type in
your post code.

Applying
• Some jobs need an application form
• Some jobs you submit the CV.
• If you are seeking more than one sort of
job you can have up to 5 CVs.
This allows you to “fine tune” your CV.
