An individual’s Earned Points are used to redeem for the merchandise awards the person wants and desires to possess.

Motivation comes with the opportunity to obtain for “free”, something you want and do not have.

The Two qualified programs are in “Safety ProgramsSafety Programs” and “Service AwardService Award ProgramsPrograms”, with the programs being annual events.

Revised Tax Code, Section 274, “j” shows us…

•Tangible MerchandiseTangible Merchandise is the only Qualified Tax Free qualified award item to be used.

•Cash, Travel, Food, Dinners are all taxable as income, if used as the awards in these programs.

•Each program participant can receive an “average” of $400 per person, per year. This applies to award merchandise received and not points.

•A Maximum of $1,600 can be earned by any one person, as long as the company per person average is $400 or less.

Common Areas of ApplicationMost incentive solutions are used in these areas of employee concerns:•Safety Improvement

•Reduce accidents and lower the cost of workers comp insurance premiums, deductibles and self insured reserve dollars.

•Absenteeism

•Absenteeism of 3% or higher are above the National Averages and are problematic in production costs and service issues. 5% is considered an ‘”Issue of Concern”.

•Turnover

•Every time someoneEvery time someone leaves or is fired, there is a cost to hire and train a new person. Depending upon the skills and training required, turnover expenses can cost from $3,000 to $20,000 for each newly hired employee.

A 10% or less reduction in these areas of concern, generally funds the awards program and starts a positive ROI for the client.

Budgeting for your ProgramMost “Blue Collar” incentive programs will budget $0.10 to $0.12 per hour for an individual.

That comes to $4.00 to $4.80 per week in possible award-points.

•$4.00 per week equals $208 in possible award points for a year.

•$4.80 per week equals $250.00 in award points)

No Program spends all of it’s budgeted award dollars; we cannot create a perfect work place, but we can make it dramatically better.

•A successful program will use 75%-80% of the awards budget in a Safety, Attendance or Turnover program.
