• Jahangir was coached initially by his father, Roshan Khan, the 1957 British Open champion, then by his late brother TorsamKhan.

• After his brother’s sudden death he was coached by his cousin Rehmat Khan, who guided Jahangir through most of his career.

• Jahangir was physically very weak as a child. Though the doctors had advised him not to take part in any sort of physical activity, after undergoing a couple of hernia operations his father let him play and try out their family game.

• In 1979, the Pakistan selectors decided not to select Jahangir to play in the World Championships in Australia, judging him too weak from a recent illness.

• Jahangir decided instead to enter the World Amateur Individual Championship and, at the age of 15, became the youngest-ever winner of that event.

• In November 1979, Jahangir’s older brother Torsam, who had been one of the leading international squash players in the 1970s, died suddenly of a heart attack during a tournament match in Australia. Torsam’s death profoundly affected Jahangir. He considered quitting the game, but decided to pursue a career in the sport as a tribute to his brother.

Dil Dil Pakistan…..

Junaid Jamshed was born on September 3, 1964 in Karachi. His father was Jamshed Akbar, a Group

Captain in the Pakistan Air Force. ... Through his father's power, he was engaged by the PAF as a civilian

contractor and enthused on to a brief vocation in aircraft engineering in the PAF's science facility.

Page 15: EMPLOYEE EXCELLENCE MODEL

THE BEGINNING

• The metamorphic journey of Junaid Jamshed started with Vital Signs – the rock band where he was a lead vocalist. The band quickly broke the glass ceiling of the music industry with their debut song “DilDil Pakistan”, which still today is the unofficial national anthem of Pakistan.

• Junaid Jamshed always had a vision for himself. At the reunion with his old friends who were too much into the Islamization, he saw the change and the easiness of freshness – that is what he was always looking for. Meeting with his friends a couple of times, created a deep cult in his heart and he started to spend time with himself learning more and more about Islam.

Page 16: EMPLOYEE EXCELLENCE MODEL

THE STRUGGLE

• The simplicity and the change started to shape his career and he left music and started to avoid the media, but was still struggling between two worlds. Within a few years, Junaid Jamshed was back starting to preach Islam and reciting naats and hamds, which started a new craze and his followers who are in millions, started to hear and this what Junaid always wanted – the youth diversification.

• Inspired by Maulana Tariq Jameel, Junaid started to love his life and began a new career. Many of the fans who were unable to meet him due to his business or rock star ego, can now meet him in person. He became more social.

Page 17: EMPLOYEE EXCELLENCE MODEL

THE END

• Jamshed was in Chitral, along with his second wife, Nayha Junaid, for a TableeghiJamat mission.

• On 7 December 2016, the two were returning to Islamabad aboard PIA Flight 661, which crashed near Havelian, KPK, killing all on board.

• On 15 December 2016, his funeral prayer offered in Moin Khan Academy, Karachi where MolanaTariq Jameel led and Junaid's fans attend the prayer.

• In 2018, Jamshed was subsequently nominated for the nation's third highest civilian honour, the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.

THE RICHEST POOR MAN

Born in India, Edhi emigrated to Pakistan soon after

India's partition in 1947. He started a clinic and a one-

man ambulance service in Karachi after the death of his

mother, whom he'd cared for during years of illness.

Recalling his early years in Karachi, "I saw people

lying on the pavement," he told NPR's Julie McCarthy

in 2009. "The flu had spread in Karachi, and there was

no one to treat them. So I set up benches and got

medical students to volunteer. I was penniless and

begged for donations on the street. And people gave. I

bought this 8-by-8 room to start my work."

Page 21: EMPLOYEE EXCELLENCE MODEL

Over the years, this grew into the Edhi Foundation, Pakistan's

most relied-upon social safety net, handling many of the

responsibilities that the Pakistani government could not or would

not.

"There's so much craftiness and cunning and lying in the world,"

Edhi told NPR. "I feel happy that God made me different from

the others. I helped the most oppressed.“

Abdul Sattar Edhi, Pakistan's best known humanitarian, died in

Karachi on Friday night.

From his base in Karachi's inner city, Edhi, who was 88, created

a network of social services for his country, including a fleet of

1,500 ambulances, 24-hour emergency services, homeless

shelters, orphanages, blood banks and homes for unwanted and

abandoned infants. Even during years of agonizing gang violence

in Karachi, Edhi frequently drove his own ambulance and

showed up personally to transport and care for the injured or

wash the dead.

Muffakir-e-Pakistan ("The Thinker of Pakistan")

Hakeem-ul-Ummat ("The Sage of the Ummah")
