Project Proposal For

sanitary napkin UnitIntroduction:We at Sai Prema intended to provide hands on Experience to our Students by installing sanitary napkin unit, so we request NSE to support us a Part of your CSR which is cost around Rs. 3,12,676/-.The Sai Prema Special School would focus on vocational training for special children. It is a training to train the Special Need children in job oriented skills. Children studying in the school are provided with training as an additional subject. We already done the feasibility study and we decided to start a diapers and sanitary napkin Unit as a part of Vocational Trade for these children.

Name and Purpose of the Unit: To setup a Vocational unit - sanitary napkin, this would hopefully generate a small income for our Organization and children.Sai Prema -Project objectives:1. To empower & strengthen the under privileged children such as children with special need.

2. Quality education focusing appropriate and income generating vocational training through joyful learning processes for children. Expected Outcomes:

Self sustainable production unit.Sai Prema and Vocational Education:A Prevocational unitstarted at Sai Prema on a small scale in 2007. The prevocational unit was set up with the objective of training the children prior to the entry to the vocational unit. In the prevocational section, there are two units functioning; home science andhome management. At home science section they make cleaning product, pickles etc., and these are sold to the local public and outside. At home management, they are trained in paper bag making, candle making etc. The main skills identified and utilized at the Vocational training unit are Garland making, Greeting cards, carving, enamel painting, pot decoration etc. There are 24 children working in the unit. A separate building annex is set apart for this purpose. To support the sale promotion of the products, an exhibition cum sale is being organized every year since the last two years. The age group of the mentally challenged in the vocational unit is between 18 and 35 and the small earning from this unit is being distributed to these children which is a great motivation and acknowledgement of their skills.

Justification:

In our society, the mentally challenged citizens find it extremely difficult to be able to make a living and live a life of dignity. Where there are no government jobs for mentally challenged persons, minimal opportunities in private sectors. However, prejudices towards them have caused them to be treated as surplus citizens incapable of being contributing and productive members of society.Keeping in this view Sai Prema want to train its students in self employed based and We intended to provided hands on Experience to our Students.

Information about the Unit:

The details describes an innovative small-scale model to manufacture sanitary napkins

The salient features of this model are as follows:

It converts the elaborate process of manufacturing sanitary napkins into a Gandhian operation. The tools used in this model are as much "machines" as the charkha, the pestle or the grindstone. In other words, this model harnesses technology for the benefit of the masses.

It operates on simple tasks that can be mastered within 1 day, and does not require exceptional skills. So anybody can use the model and achieve success.

It addresses the issue of sanitary napkins being unaffordable and/or unavailable to around 97% of Indian women this scenario is same around all under developed countries these women therefore resort to unhygienic alternatives and occasionally face embarrassing situations in public.

Several states of India, We are doing a project on sanitary napkin manufacture at newly invented machine. Every unit of this invention would lead to employment of 6-10 rural women and low cost napkins supplied by these units can be used by the rural women to improve their hygiene level.

Give an opportunity, to stand on their feet and live a dignified life.
