    HAITI: January 4 - 11, 2013:

We joined Friar Suppliers again this year for their annual mission trip to Carre-four, Hai . Our team was able to construct 150+ latrines, adding to the impactof last year s trip, which produced a remarkable drop in cholera. The medicalcon ngent saw nearly 1200 pa ents, and about 500 families received food. This year the CFR Sisters added an evangeliza on dimension, visi ng homesand praying with families, and there was another bap sm, too! We also visiteda new inland site, where we are helping poor families cul vate cassava, andwhere we may do future construc on projects.

    HONDURAS: Nov - Dec 2012, Jan - Feb & Mar 2013:

We made three trips to Honduras since our last update. In November and Decem-ber, in collabora on with Missioners of Christ, we were involved with youth for-ma on and a mission trip into the indigenous mountain region of Guajiquiro. InJanuary, Missioners travelled to La Ceiba to help conduct a Pan de Vida (Bread of Life) Eucharis c youth retreat for Con rma on candidates. That visit enabled meto par cipate in local celebra ons of the Day of Consecrated Life (Feb 2) and thesolemnity of Our Lady of Suyapa, Patroness of Honduras (Feb 3). We returnedagain in March to join in the celebra ons of Holy Week and to carry out an evan-geliza on outreach to the many tourists who ock to the coast at that me calledJess en la Playa (Jesus at the Beach), involving music, dramas, videos, prayer andac vi es for children; it was extremely well received. With the support of Francis-can Mission Outreach, Missioners of Christ con nue to regularly visit the boys andyouth at the Granja Jess de Nazaret (Jesus of Nazareth Farm), and at Christmasdistributed gi s collected by my home parish of Sacred Heart, St. Marys, PA.
