Emirates is the largest airline in the Middle East, operating over 2500 flights per week.

On 25th October 1985, Emirates flew its first routes out of Dubai with just two aircraft-a least Boeing 737 and Airbus 300 B4.

Emirates first flight was from Dubai to Karachi targeted from least aircraft of PIA.

Emirates is the private airline of UAE which have its separate terminals in Dubai.

The Emirates Group, employed a total of 49,950 employees.

The primary focus for Emirates and its employees is to deliver superior customer service.

Another strategy is to use profit sharing schemes on performance based.

In the last financial year (2010-11), over 4,917 tones of waste was recycled by the Emirates Group in Dubai.

Emirates Group Headquarters (EGHQ) represents one of the largest work locations for the Group and also one of the best locations for collecting recyclable office waste.

The Emirates Group also recycles used clothing from staff, resulting in over 24,000kg of items being recycled in 2010-11.

Recycling of paper, cardboard, plastic bottles, aluminum drink cans, steel cans and printer cartridges is carried out at EGHQ (EMIRATES GROUP HEADQUARTERS)

EKFC (EMIRATES FLIHGT CATERING) operates the largest flight catering facility.

ICE (Information, Communication, Entertainment).

Emirates now feature docking capability for Apple Inc.’s iPod portable music and video player as of mid-2007.

Emirates plan to extend the system to more aircraft.

Emirates has also become an official partner of the International Cricket Council until 2015.

It enables the in-flight entertainment system.

The aircraft, an Airbus A340 which stops mobiles from interfering with a plane’s electronics.

In cricket, Emirates sponsors Cricket Australia, Lord’s Taverners and Pro Arch Tournament.

Emirates has codeshare agreements with the following airlines:Air Malta, Air Mauritius, Japan Airlines, Jet Airways, Korean Air, Oman Air, Philippine Airlines, South African Airways and Thai Airways International.

Emirates currently flies to 110 cities in 66 countries across Europe, North America, South America, the Middle East, Africa, the Indian subcontinent and Asia-Pacific.

So far this year, the airline has launched a new route to Basra, Iraq on 2 February and will start new services to Geneva on 1 June and Copenhagen on 1 August.

The airline ranks in amongst the top ten carriers worldwide in 2007.

In 2010 the airline ranks sixth largest airline in the world.

In the financial year 2010/2011, Emirates carried 31.4 million passengers.

In February 2011, Air Transport World gave Emirates Airlines the title of “AIRLINE OF THE YEAR” for 2011.
