As high performance electronics go into harsher surroundings, theyrequire protection from a range of damaging conditions. Sealing Devicesprovides many specialized products to enhance the effectiveness ofelectronic enclosures.

• Gore Protective Vents guard against damage caused by internalenclosure pressure from altitude, environmental and temperaturevariations by allowing pressure equalization. Membranes allow air andgas to flow freely while preventing water/contaminant ingress,maintaining the enclosure seal. Vents are effective for condensationcontrol, releasing rechargeable battery gas and protecting audiocomponents.

• Rogers Poron Microcellular Urethane foams offer compression setresistance and vibration damping for gap filling, shock/vibrationabsorption and dust sealing. Rogers BISCO closed-cell silicone foamscan be used when greater sealing and temperature resistance isrequired.

• Highly conformable and re-enterable connector seal grommets andsealing strips of Dow Corning Silicone Gel provide sealing protection inenclosures, and provides an effective barrier against corrosion in wetenvironments.

• High strength acrylic VHB Tape material from 3M bonds with highholding strength for dynamic or static stress. The viscoelastic tapesprovide a continuous bond to distribute stress over a wide area while itdampens vibration and seals against environmental conditions. Ideal forjoining dissimilar materials, and reducing potential galvanic corrosion byreplacing fasteners

Conductive Elastomers

Chomerics CHO-SEAL® and CHO-SIL® conductiveelastomers are available in a wide range ofcompounds and fillers to meet your applicationneeds. They feature excellent EMI shielding, with resistance to compression set over a widetemperature range, and also function asenvironmental seals.

Specialty elastomers are available for low closureforce, waveguide, or corrosive environments.Extruded elastomers are available cut-to-lengthin an assortment of high-demand profiles,including Hollow or Solid D, Hollow or Solid O,Hollow P, rectangular, and many others. Manyforms are available with pressure sensitiveadhesives (PSA) applied. Co-extruded strips

Metals & Mesh

We offer the Chomerics line, the mostcomprehensive range of metal-based EMIgaskets available, including knitted wire mesh,mesh over elastomer core, oriented wires inelastomers, and metal screen- or expandedfoil- impregnated elastomers.

Combo Gaskets

COMBO gasketing is recommended forapplications requiring a weather seal in additionto EMI shielding. COMBO gaskets combineMESH STRIP gasketing in parallel with anintegral elastomer weather-sealing strip, andare available with or without adhesive backing.

Shielded Vent Panels

Vents provide ready-to-mount EMI shielding forairflow applications. They are metal honeycombin gasketed frames, and are for rugged, highperformance applications.

Low Closure Force Gaskets

SOFT-SHIELD® low compression force, foambased materials are designed for shielding andgrounding electronic enclosures. Available insheets, strips, profiles and die-cuts, for generalduty and UL-94 V0 rated versions, profilesfeature either an electrically conductive fabricjacket, or a woven mesh over a compressiblefoam core. Also available as a multi-planerZ-axis conductive foam sheet with integrationof electrically conductive fibers in lowdensity foam.

Form-in-Place EMI gasketing, we offer precisiondispensing of conformable gaskets in very smallcross sections to free up space and eliminatewaste. Gaskets can be applied in six axes andcure in minutes.

Form-in-Place seals have low compression setand offer years of effective EMI shielding andmechanical performance.

EMI Specialty Products

We offer specialty products for EMI shieldingfor many applications. DURALAN II™ highperformance windows and filters combineexceptional optical and EMI shieldingperformance. Filters can be designed toincorporate EMI/RFI shielding and ESDprotection. Fine wire meshes and transparentconductive materials are used for EMI/RFIshielding applications. SPRING-LINEberyllium/copper and stainless steel springfingergaskets provide high levels of shielding.We also offer a wideselection of Chomericssuppressors, EMIferrites and CHO-Mute™ flexible absorbers,and a variety of cable shielding products.
