Developing Emergenetics in a way that was statistically reliable was imperative, but we are constantly working to make sure our profile is still as reliable and accurate as the day it was developed. The Emergenetics behaviors were borne out of the same rigorous testing and research as the thinking attributes, and we came to realize that like the thinking attributes, behavioral attributes are independent

of one another and comingle to make up the way you behave. We also realized that although the behavioral attributes were easily understood, we needed to measure the intensity of that behavior for it to mean something. That’s why we developed the spectrum concept – it’s a visual depiction of how your behavior compares with the general population.

Emergenetics uses four common thinking attributes based on the split-brain model developed by Nobel Prize winning neuropsychologist Roger Sperry. By grounding the four thinking attributes in a right-brain, left-brain
