However, emergencies and disasters do occur in these settings and child care providers need to plan and be prepared when such events happen. Ifstaffareabletofollowtheinstructionsintheordertheyarewritten,itwillhelpthemtoknowwhattodoineachtypeofdisasterorcrisis.

Alltheseconditionsposesafetythreatsforthechildrenandstaff.Therefore,itisimportanttohaveanemergencyplanforpossibleweatherordisasteremergencies.Theplanswilldependonthegeographicalareainwhichyouarelocated.Disasterdrillsmustbepracticedanddocumentedquarterly.
