2. SCOPE OF THE SAFETY INITIATIVE

(Outline the scope of the Safety drawbacks or deficiencies).

Having awarded a difficult task, for the Installation of the Conveyors System at Wharf area in to

complete, which was awarded to <COMPANY>, during the middle of the phase 2, project with a very tight

schedule and to work in conjunction with the operation activities.

The job was a big challenge to our EHS department as well as to our production team to complete it on

the time scheduled, where we faced many challenges for carrying out many critical lifting activities and

interfacing other operation issues, which we successfully completed the project by following all the site

specific plans and procedures without having any major incidents.

3. INTRODUCTION AND BACKGROUND

(Define the problem. Describe the situation before. Show evidences).

The Installation of the Conveyors System at the Wharf area in , which was awarded to us, was started

before by other mechanical contractor where they had left the project in the middle without completion.

When <COMPANY> was re-awarded this project, we built up our strong team of competent people,

dividing them in separate groups, and giving then the responsibilities of each work area in section by

section and represented with one full time dedicated EHS personal in each section area.

4. DESCRIPTION

(Describe the initiative or project activities and methodology).

The initiative what we took to complete the project is by organizing the correct type of resources what were necessary, carrying out regular site inspections and by providing the necessary task training to our people which was done externally through approved third party and also carried out internally (in-house) on site.

The day to day activities were started with the daily supervisors meeting chaired by the project team leader by briefing them on identifying the task hazards and how to mitigate those hazards by implementing and complying with all the site specific EHS procedures and by following the approved method statement and risk assessment.

Apart from the external and internal training, the project management team had also provided many special training campaigns for our people on the job site as listed below, which were much effective to avoid any incident on site.

Heat Stress Power Tools Rescue from Height Hand Injury Prevention Awareness Safety Never Stops To protect the environment, we were committed to safe guard our laydown from any ground contamination and other atmospheric harms; and to protect this we had properly planned the storage areas and handling of the hazardous substances by arranging correct facilities as per the required site specific procedures. (i.e. COSHH materials storage; diesel storage area, segrted of waste skips; etc)

(Describe the results and impacts of the initiative or innovation, and provide tangible/intangible evidence that the results demonstrate safety excellent outcome; outline any ongoing partnerships and how these will be maintained; highlight the commitment to safety excellence; and demonstrate how innovation and leadership have resulted in sustainable Safety performance). The task training which was provided to all the employees during the execution of the project was very

much effective where they learned the safe methods and technique for working safely and what are the

relevant necessary precautions to be taken to avoid any incident.

Our site senior management was fully committed giving their extensive support on all the issues arising

towards Environmental, Health and Safety on site and encouraging all task Supervisors to give more

importance and to check and arrange the required necessary resources to complete the job safely.
