Emergencies and first aid

Hi, I’m Lorraine Djali,I’m the doctor in the Apis mission.

In the Apis spaceship there are lots of first aid kits. Inside you can find a lot of items to help you in case of emergency.

First aid kit

On a mission, a big number of accidents can happen:

fractures

burns

choking Cardiac/respiratory arrest

wounds

In case of emergency:

First, call 112.

What’s in a first aid kit?

Pocket mask

Disposable gloves

Antiseptic or alcohol wipes

bandages

Sterile dressings

Antiseptic liquid or ointmentSaline

Butterfly closure strips

Sticking plasters

scissors Adhesive tape

Triangular cloth tweezers

Use A pocket mask in the case of cardiac or respiratory arrest.

Use Antiseptic or alcohol wipes to clean your hands before and after helping.

Not to clean wounds!

Use Disposable Gloves to protect your hands.

Only use gloves one time!

Use saline to clean wounds

When the wound is clean,use antiseptic to disinfect.

Use sterile dressings, bandages and adhesive tape to cover the wound and stop the blood.

Use butterfly closure strips and sticking plasters to close the wound.

Use cold water or a cold wet sterile dressing in the case of burns.

Use a triangular cloth to hold a fractured arm
