Its chemical protection suits and disposable clothing business has experienced strong growth over the last 10 years with rapid portfolio extension. To help support the European sales & marketing team with this rapid expansion and to ensure an adequate response is provided to large end-users, our client is seeking to hire an EMEA HSE CONSULTANT with immediate effect. THE ROLE The HSE consultant is accountable to support the sales team in his/her promotion effort at large end-user and distributor level by providing hazard assessment and training. The primary role of the chemical garments Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) is to provide segment marketing and sales with product application support and CIH expertise. The majority of this support will occur in the field and during seminars with distributors and end-users. Support will take the form of training, problem solving, 2nd level response and hazard surveys. The CIH will be uniquely positioned to provide marketing with end-use VOC on unmet needs, performance requirements and competitive product positioning to create enhanced sales and marketing tools. The role requires the candidate to build an effective external network of key end-users, industry stakeholders (associations, events, standards groups…) and peers (CIH network). It also requires close coordination with multiple internal functions including: marketing, sales (National Account Managers, District Managers and Manufacturer Representative Groups), customer service, product management, marketing communications, quality, technical, and legal. MAIN MISSION : To provide training, technical assistance and hazard assessment for our clients' garment business customers and distributors in EMEA. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES : Perform and organise end-user and distributor training in the company's numerous European facilities around EMEA (10 -15 / year). Support sales team and distributors through answering customer technical questions. Join sales team in end-user visits upon request, conduct hazard assessment if required. Give trade and customer-event support. Supporting Marketing Communication to build and maintain pertinent sales presentations, review promotional tools. Identify / upgrade segment training materials content for internal and external use, i.e. our clients’ Worker Safety University, web content, white papers, etc... Develop customer-relevant customer insight library by vertical market. Help driving competitive intelligence effort for the garment business. Maintain and enhance our clients’ links into the technical, HSE and PPE communities. Network within the CIH community. Lead efforts to network with training organisations and select industry associations. THE PROFILE SPECIFIC SKILLS/EXPERIENCE : Certified Industrial Hygienist with > 10 years of industry experience. Nebosh certified. First responder experience preferred but not essential > 5 years. Minimum of 10 years professional experience, in PPE business including direct sales experience and technical role. Experience in performing presentations in front of diverse audiences and large groups. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (both orally and in writing) and build relationships with internal staff, business partners, external customers and key influencers. The role requires close coordination across multiple internal stakeholders / functions. Proven ability to work directly with customer, business, sales, marketing and technical service at all levels. Ability to create enthusiasm and excitement for technically-orientated messages, encourage interactivity, trust and cooperation among and within work groups. Good organisation skills, time management and multi-tasking. Able to prioritise and remain flexible to customer requests. An excellent command of English is a must. Fluency in French and German is a plus. Knowledge of protective clothing, respiratory or hand protection is a distinct advantage. Ability to travel 50% of the time.
