    Introduction

This guide provides details of the data available from each record that is included with the PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Manager product. To understand the meaning of the specified parameters for each record, please refer to the Legend page.

Full details about PROGNOSIS IP Telephony Manager records and how to they are used can be found in the System Guide.

    Legend • Type

The type field indicates the format of the data collected. This can be either:

'String' - which is a group or sequence of characters. This is followed by the maximum number of characters in the sequence, e.g. String 84

    or,

'Binary' - which is a numeric representation. All numeric data in PROGNOSIS is stored in 8, 16, 32 or 64 bit signed integers, hence the forms BINARY_8, BINARY_16, BINARY_32 and BINARY_64. These can also be followed by the location of an implied decimal point, e.g. BINARY_16,2 which implies a 16 bit integer with two implied decimal places; in this case a raw value of 32767 would be interpreted and displayed as 327.67. In general you do not need to worry about the size or decimal places of a quantity, but you may need to know a field’s type, since you cannot compare strings to numeric values in, say, a Where clause.

    • Summary The 'Summary' field refers to the operation performed when a field is summarized to a database. Possible values include the following:

ACCUMULATE The field is an accumulation of the intervals summarized.

AVERAGE The field is an average of the intervals summarized.

AVERAGE_OVER_INT The field will be averaged over the interval. This allows for transient data. For example: if CPU utilization by a process is being captured over a 1-minute interval and a particular process executes for 10 seconds using 100% of a processor, how much was its CPU utilization over the minute? The average over interval is: (100% * 10/60 = 16.7%).

MAX Saves the highest value over the summarized interval.

MIN Saves the lowest value over the summarized interval.

REPLACE Only the last occurrence is saved.

ONLINE_ONLY The field cannot be collected to a database.

    • Key Field The Key fields are used to uniquely identify each row in a table. A unique key or primary key comprises a single column or set of columns. No two distinct rows in a table can have the same value (or combination of values) in those columns.

    • Associate Field Associate-static fields provide pre-selection criteria to the collector at creation time. The purpose of associates is usually to allow improved collection performance by pre-specifying the data to be collected rather than having the collector gather all possible data and then filtering it after the collection.
