Email Services
E‐mail marketing has continued to be one of the fastest, most direct ways for marketers to reach their core customer base and targeted prospects. Through the years, email has earned the reputation as a proven and cost‐effective communication tool that produces results.
For the first time, half of adults ages 65 and older are online.
As of April 2012, 53% of American adults ages 65 and older use the internet or email. Though these adults are still less likely than all other age groups to use the internet, the latest data represent the first time that half of seniors are going online. After several years of very little growth among this group, these gains are significant.
Overall, 82% of all American adults ages 18 and older say they use the internet or email at least occasionally, and 67% do so on a typical day.
Once online, internet use becomes a regular part of seniors’ lives. Although half of adults ages 65 and older remain disconnected from the internet, once online, internet use becomes a fixture in everyday life for seniors. Overall, 82% of all adult internet users go online on an average day. Among adults ages 65 and older, 70% use the internet on a typical day. That compares to:
‐ 76% of the internet users ages 50‐64 who go online on a typical day,
‐ 86% of the internet users ages 30‐49 who go online on a typical day
‐ 87% of the internet users ages 18‐29 who go online on a typical day. These findings largely echo other recent research examining older adults’ use of technology. Once they are given the tools and training needed to start using the internet, they become fervent users of the technology.1
ARE SENIORS GOOD PROSPECTS FOR E-MAIL MARKETING?
1. Seniors over age 65 are the fastest growing Internet segment.
2. Seniors view 178.8 more Internet pages per month than Internet users aged 18‐24.
3. 87% of the AGE 65+ crowd uses email.
4. 74% of Internet users age 64 and older send and receive email, making it the most popular online activity for this age group. ‐ Pew Internet and American Life Project (Feb 2009)
5. Not only is the cost of email up to 75% less than the cost of direct mail, it is virtually an untapped method of reaching out to the senior market.
6. Approximately 90% of seniors are on the Do Not Call list, the other 10% use caller ID to screen calls making this virtually unreachable market, reachable.
7. 91% of online consumers check their email daily. Email marketing is one of your best means of generating leads and converting those leads into customers. - HubSpot.com

Interesting Statistics
Harness the Power of Email Marketing Email and search form the core of online communication and online information gathering, respectively. And they have done so for nearly a decade, even as new platforms, broadband and mobile devices continue to reshape the way Americans use the internet and web. Perhaps the most significant change over that time is that both activities have become more habitual.
Maybe it’s time for a change in marketing strategy. Many marketing groups and individual agents depend on direct mail… We ask, why? It’s expensive, requires weeks of time to manage campaigns, seniors get lots of solicitations thus response rates continue to decline, etc. When done correctly, email stands out from the crowd while providing the recipient almost immediate access to the product or service offered. We look forward to being of service.
