DEFINITION AND HISTORY

• Sending and receiving of messages through electronic signals.

• Invented in 1996.

• Worked by Hardy and Ian R at University of California at Berkeley and

V.A Shiva invented and introduced it.

• Revolution in the system of mailing.

• Many companies then setup their own mail Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail etc. which

are still used today by number of peoples.

FUNCTIONING

• It was designed for business purposes because it was difficult to send a letter

of business and personal details accurately because there was a danger of

loss of letter.

• File Attachment is one of the best function of it because with the use of it we

can upload file up to 25 MB. Files may be Records, Processing Documents and

Databases.

• Chatting with friends, relative and personal contacts.

oTraditional Postal System

• Hand Written form, and some times due to bad hand writing, letters does not visible

properly.

• Go to General Post Office take envelope from there.

• Wait for Stamp.

• Leave it in letter box.

• Wait for reply of other person for couple of weeks or months and sometimes when

postman is unavailable, delivery delay.
