n Our doors are manufactured with a hardwood crown cut veneer, offering a superior finish.

n All of the crown cut veneers in this range can be book-matched to provide an attractive and carefully balanced pattern across the full door. This finish is achieved by taking successive leaves of veneer and creating a mirrored effect by reversing each alternative leaf and aligning corresponding edges.

n To complete your door we fit a fully factory finished exposed lipping (10mm lipping – lipped 4 edges) and matching glazing bead to suit. (where applicable) Over veneered doors can also be supplied.

n Vision panel and BWF CERTIFIRE fire door options available, please see page 11 for configurations.

n Select a frame of either MDF, Softwood or Hardwood, all of which can be factory primed for completion on site. Alternatively, you may wish to opt for a factory painted or factory finished hardwood.

n Metal frames within this range offer a robust and aesthetically pleasing option for many locations including schools, apartments, hospitals, medical environments and commercial buildings.

n Metal frames within this range are suitable for heavy duty applications.

n Standard factory finish frame consists of a primed only or polyester powder coating which is available in a full range of colour options.

DOOR OPTIONS n Doors can be factory primed for finishing on-site.

Alternatively, our painted doors are fully factory painted to any RAL number requiring no further on-site finishing coat.

n We offer you a full choice of glass types including Georgian Wired Polished, Clear Laminate, Pyroguard to suit the fire rating required for the doorset, and Toughened Glass.

n All the vision panel doors we produce with a fire rating come with a dry glazed cassette and the required intumscent strip. You have the added option of also including a smoke seal.

SEALS Door assemblies are an integral part of buildings, and while there must be gaps around the perimeter of the door for it to operate efficiently, these gaps allow sound to pass through. Sealing gaps around the door is crucial, to reduce the amount of sound entering or leaving the room.

We offer seals that are rigorously tested and proven to achieve acoustic ratings up to 41dB Rw, to meet the requirements of Approved Document E.

Requirement E1 covers ‘dwelling-houses, flats and rooms for residential purposes’ a minimum acoustic performance of 29dB Rw is required.

Building Bulletin 93 highlights the need for good acoustic conditions in schools, and this affects doors as well. Specific acoustic performance ratings for door assemblies are stated – please note these are minimum requirements:– n All spaces except music rooms: 30dB Rwn Music rooms: 35dB Rw

With a multitude of building requirements, it is vital to ensure that the sealing system chosen will meet them all.

We can supply a doorset package which incorporates a unique collection of seals, providing the highest standard of protection against sound (Approved Document E); smoke at all temperatures and fire (Approved Document B); while offering low frictional resistance for ease of door operation (Approved Document M).

BACKGROUND The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) estimates that 30,000 children trap and seriously injure their fingers in doors every year and more than 1,500 of these will require surgery. These injuries cost the NHS over £200 million.

The main danger with conventional doors comes from the gap which is created at the hinge side when the door is opening and closing.
