Calling All Bakers…By Ann Williams
"Calling all bakers - did you spend the last two months going through your
recipes waiting for the right time to bake? It is here -- we need one more Hostess for April. Please contact me if you are the one! In the meantime, Janet, Annette and Joan will provide refreshments for our March meeting. See you there!
As a general rule the members can plan on our collecting food and household products every month whether or not we have a meeting - need does not take a vacation.
At our December meeting we received 30 lbs of food with candy canes for the children as well as 16 rolls of toilet tissues and 2 boxes of Kleenex.
Our January collection caught us off guard as it came so close to the holiday celebrations with a very small amount donated by one member of the Club.
For February we collected 44 lbs of goods, 2 large packages of sanitary pads, 6 rolls of paper towels and 10 rolls of toilet tissues. Thank you. We are getting back on track.
The pink box will be at the Senior Center from Monday, March 5 until the end of our meeting Wednesday, March 7. I know we will also be collecting for Julie’s Safe House during the month of March but don’t let us forget our food pantries.
