Elijah Glenn- a native of Newark, New Jersey, a product of the Newark Housing Authority, Newark Public Schools, a Zoo Crew Youth Program Alumni, Essex County College Upward Bound Program Alumni & a Boys & Girls Club of Newark Alumni. Mr. Glenn has been groomed by his family, teachers, religious officials, & neighbors to be a beacon of hope and a role model to adults, peers, family members and thousands of youth from New Jersey to Virginia and back by tutoring, coaching athletes from 7-26yrs old in basketball, soccer, t-ball, providing mentoring and alternatives to destructive lifestyles for youth.

Working with youth has been a family tradition, and it was second nature for him to focus his passion and determination at the age of 14 on youth in summer camp as a group leader. As a Newark Housing Authority Scholarship Winner in 2000 & 2001 Mr. Glenn made his dream public knowledge by stating he plans to give back to his city. Since making that pledge he’s done countless hours of volunteer work with youth. Mr. Glenn has worked with local and world renowned non-profit organizations like the Boys & Girls Club & the YMCA. As a member of the organizing/planning teams for City Aires and Most Wanted, two other promotional & marketing organizations he learned to scout the most appropriate venues, in terms of space, price, accessibility, negotiate, market to specific age/social groups, and how to plan for the unexpected. He’s worked at a local night club as the Assistant Manager, to study how a club functions from setup for an event to the break down of it, event planning and artist booking just to better understand the entertainment industry.

As the Target Outreach Director for the Boys and Girls Club of Newark his responsibilities included outreach, teaching the Career Launch Program in alternative schools as well as the ECC Detention Center, organizing events, recruitment, case management of youth, establishing collaborative partnerships with schools, community organizations and service providers.

Mr. Glenn has also served as a camp counselor, coach for several sports, and certified peer trainer, and mentor to the youth of the community. His skills in conflict management & counseling has provided him the insight, negotiation, patience, tact, and tolerance to deal with any problematic situations, which has also landed him the role of handling human resources for New Breed Entertainment, LLC as well. Mr. Glenn is apart of Leadership Newark class of 2011, an organization focused on training the future leaders of Newark in a wide variety of subjects. He continues to seek new opportunities to grow & assist the members of his community by providing resources for their success.
