Tintin at the cinema

Are you keen on the cinema? Then don’t miss The Adventuresof Tintin: The Unicorn’s Secret. It’s the first of 3 films aboutthe likeable*, courageous* cartoon character who was created bythe Belgian illustrator Hergé in 1929.

Two directors, Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson, have joined together to directthe three films. They are all in 3D and were made using the technique performance capture, which copies the facial expressionsof the actors onto the cartoon characters created by computer. The actors, whose faces will be used, are a guarantee of success -Jamie Bell, famous for Billy Elliot, will bethe courageous reporter Tintin, and Daniel Craig, who played James Bond, will be the evil*pirate Red Rackham. In the film,Tintin goes in search of hidden treasurein a submerged, sunken ship*.

Who will use it the most?Probably the biggest age group will be those between18 and 34, like today. However, the over 65s will seethe fastest increase in users (+ 124%) and teenagers between 13 and 15 (+ 82%). If the trend* continues like this, Facebook will be used by all age groups.

Who will collaborate*? In different countries like China, it’s forbidden*to connect to Facebook. But Wang Jianzhou, headof the biggest Chinese telecommunications company, met Facebook’s founder, Mark Zuckerberg in January. Mark said: “We’re considering the possibility of working together in some way”. Who won’t be able to use it anymore? In 2010, the Ontario teacher’s association (Canada) forbade* 230,000 teachers to accept requestsfor friendship by their students on Facebook.Who knows if others will do the same?

It was createdby four friends who abandoned Facebook becauseit didn’t protect personal information.Google Me: Its creator Adam D’Angelo says that“Google Me will soon be reality”. But nobody has said yet what it’ll be like, only that it will be simple to use.Path: it’s called a “personal network” because it only allows you to have 50 friends. On Path you share information about people, places and thingsin a comfortable and practical environment.

Accidental Billionaires The film The Social Network is basedon the book Accidental Billionairesby the writer Ben Mezrich. It tells the story of Zuckerberg and Saverin, both Harvard students and computer geniuses. After having invented Facebook, they both become famous but have problems and break off their friendship.

2011 is a golden year for the beautiful and talented American actresswho has won over* everybodywith many films and an Oscar.

All kinds of filmsThis year Natalie Portman has appeared on the big screen four times. If you’re a fan of romantic films, you’ll surely have seen No Strings Attached. If you prefer science fiction you’ll have admired her in Cloud Atlas. If, however, you prefer comedies, you’ll have enjoyed Best Buds.If you’re keen on* mythological films then you’ll certainly have seen Thor where Natalie plays a young scientist who meets on Earth a very tall, blond God who is disguised*as a normal man.

Success and studyNatalie reached great success in the film Leon, directed by Luc Besson, but she continued studying and followed courses at the prestigious acting school Stage Door Manor Performing Arts while she was studying at university.

Her successes and her refusalsDirectors such as Woody Allen (Everyone says I love you), Lukas (Mars Attacks) and Mike Nichols (Closer, 2004) have wanted her in their films. But Natalie is also able to say ‘no’ and she refused to play Lolita for Adrian Line

and even Juliet for Luhrmann. If the scenes are too strong, she doesn’t accept. This year she won the Oscar for the thriller The Black Swan by Aronofsky (2010),in which she plays a tormented ballerina. Having studied ballet since she was a child, came in very usefulin the film.

Life off set*Natalie is a vegetarian. She keeps herself fit dancingand skating and reads a lot. Animals are her passionand she is involved in the organization PETA. Obviouslyshe has her own pet, Noodles, which she’s very attached to.
