Be Ready Be Kind Be Your Best ELERMORE ENDEAVOUR Term 1 Week 4 19 February 2021 Dear Parents and Carers, Along with our new rules: Be Ready, Be Kind, Be Your Best we have commenced a new reward system at EVPS this year. Rewards are more focused on recognising the student in the moment and may come with teacher recognition, class acknowledgement, a thumbs up or a letter/phone call home. Any students who have qualified for a silver award under the previous system can bring them to the front office. These will still be honored. Our school strategic directions planning is well underway. We will be focusing on three key areas Student Achievement, High Expectation Relationships and Innovative Practices. These principles will be guiding our practice and be our focus of improvement over the next 4 years. Once finalised it will be shared with the whole school community. Congratulations to our wonderful Zone swimming team who competed at Speers Point pool yesterday. Everyone got wet, everyone tried their best and everyone supported each other. Great representatives of our school in performance and attitude! This week we had 80% of our students attending school at higher than 90%. Well done! Remember, every minute matters! Last Friday we held our first Frozen Fun Friday one student from each class in our K-6 were identified by their teachers as doing the Elermore Way in class. They then had an icy pole and a chat with me on Friday afternoon. It was a great way to end the week! Our Frozen Fun Friday students for Week 4 are: Zak, Jai, Ben, Kai, Milla, Delilah, Oscar, Will, Giselle, Brooklyn H, Edmund, Charlotte, Madison C and Jackson! Regards, Luke Somerville Parent Portal Last week a unique key was sent out to each family to enable registration for access to the Parent Portal. This key will only work for the creation of one login using your chosen email address. Some families have indicated the need to have a second login using a different email address, for example where each parent requires access using their own email rather than a joint email address. Should you require a second access key, please simply inform the school, remembering to quote your child's name and class. COVID restrictions We are still operating under COVID restrictions that have been determined by the NSW Government. These include: -Students and staff are required to stay at home if they have any illness symptoms. Before returning to school they must be symptom free and have completed a COVID test. The negative COVID test must be supplied to the school email before returning. -Non-essential adults are not permitted on school grounds or at school events. -Parents and carers are not allowed on school sites during school hours except for specific purposes, such as scheduled appointments with staff, canteen duties and entering the school administration office for enquiries. Many events that we run at school require prior planning. These events are planned in line with the restrictions at the time. While restrictions may change we are often unable to change our plans to accommodate the different guidelines in a short space of time. Each school’s planning and approach to activities is different please do not compare. Every school is trying to provide for our students the best we can.

ENDEAVOUR

Term 1 Week 4 19 February 2021

Dear Parents and Carers,

Along with our new rules: Be Ready, Be Kind, Be

Your Best – we have commenced a new reward

system at EVPS this year. Rewards are more

focused on recognising the student in the moment

and may come with teacher recognition, class

acknowledgement, a thumbs up or a letter/phone call

home.

Any students who have qualified for a silver award

under the previous system can bring them to the front

office. These will still be honored.

Our school strategic directions planning is well

underway. We will be focusing on three key areas –

Student Achievement, High Expectation

Relationships and Innovative Practices. These

principles will be guiding our practice and be our

focus of improvement over the next 4 years. Once

finalised it will be shared with the whole school

community.

Congratulations to our wonderful Zone swimming

team who competed at Speers Point pool yesterday.

Everyone got wet, everyone tried their best and

everyone supported each other. Great

representatives of our school in performance and

attitude!

school at higher than 90%. Well done! Remember,

every minute matters!

Last Friday we held our first Frozen Fun Friday – one

student from each class in our K-6 were identified by

their teachers as doing the Elermore Way in class.

They then had an icy pole and a chat with me on

Friday afternoon. It was a great way to end the week!

Our Frozen Fun Friday students for Week 4 are: Zak,

Jai, Ben, Kai, Milla, Delilah, Oscar, Will, Giselle,

Brooklyn H, Edmund, Charlotte, Madison C and

Jackson!

THURSDAY NIGHT RAFFLES

We are looking for some extra volunteers to help with the running of our Thursday night raffles at Hotel Elermore.

The raffles run from 5:30pm until 7:30pm.

If you can spare some time on a Thursday night (whether it be occasionally, or on a regular basis) it would be greatly

appreciated! Please let us know via our Facebook page if you are able to help out. Alternatively, you can call/text

Sarrah on 0401 216 691.

Thanks in advance!

CANTEEN

It has been so nice to be able to offer the canteen services 5 days a week again! And we’ve noticed the kids are loving

it too! You can find a menu on the QuickCliq website, which is our online ordering system. We do prefer orders to be

placed through this system as it makes things easier for us, however, we also still accept over the counter orders (before

9am).
