THIXATROL®

DW

Designed for deep water and low applications where ECD control is key. This synthetic polymer generates a very efficient flat rheological profile with respect to reduced temperatures. Constant LSRV can be generated from 40ºF through 250ºF. HSRV is reduced by as much as 35% at 40ºF, as compared to muds built with conventional RAs.

THIXATROL®

DW 50

A second generation polymeric rheological additive for deep water drilling fluids. This polymer offers improved thermal stability to 350ºF, while maintaining ECD control, constant LSRV between 40ºF through 350ºF and 35% lower HSRV at 40ºF as compared to muds built with conventional RAs.

APPLICATION PRODUCT FEATURE SUMMARY

Rheology Leadership plus so much more…

Elementis Specialties promotes a range of organo-modified smectite clays, high purity non-modified specialty clays and organic polymers for use in the oil field services industry. These materials serve primarily as rheological additives to thicken and suspend solids and other polymers. They are recognized, worldwide, under the BENTONE® trademark that has been an essential element of the oilfield chemicals business since 1949. The product line includes bentonite and hectorite clay bases, both providing unique characteristics.

High purity, beneficiated hectorite based rheological additives are unique to Elementis. Our mine in Hector, California, yields a white clay of unique chemistry and physical characteristics. The organoclays derived from this raw material, provide the leading performance rheological additives for the industry. They are highly effective and stable in a variety of difficult drilling conditions. Hectorite based organoclays are recognized by the industry as the most reliable organoclays for high temperature environments.
