Classroom Type 1 for Kindergarten and 1st Grade programs provides opportunities for students to learn to function within a group, and to become independent in handling personal needs, classroom materials and following routines. Section 03 - MEDIA CENTERGeneral Description

The Media Center provides appropriate materials to support and enrich the curriculum. The program is planned so that instruction is integrated with the classroom and meets the needs of the individual student. The Media Center is arranged for individuals, as well as large or small groups, as they engage in creative inquiry and discovery. A wide variety of varying levels of media is available for student and staff use. Classrooms for Exceptional Children provide services to students with varying disabilities as well as those who are gifted. Provide one (1) quad power outlet and one (1) dual data outlet at each #36. Provide one (1) telephone outlet at one (1) #11. Provide raceway to conceal wiring, cabling and outlets as part of millwork. Below work surface, provide access panels to outlets in vertical surface of raceway. Outlets are at 20" AFF in raceway and accessed via grommets in work surface. Face #34s toward media center entrance.

Provide continuous work surface @ 30" high and min 30" deep w/ writing surface @ 43" high and 18" deep along 2/3s of work surface. Provide the following base casework: 2 #36s, 2 #56s w/ locks, 2 #57s w/ locks, 1 #58 and 2 #59s arranged symmetrically for two (2) work stations. Provide one (1) quad and one (1) duplex power outlets, one (1) dual data outlet and one (1) telephone outlet at each station. Additionally, provide one (1) intercom administrative phone w/ readout at one station. Provide raceway to conceal wiring, cabling and outlets as part of millwork. Below work surface, provide access panels to outlets in vertical surface of raceway. Outlets are at 20" AFF in raceway and accessed via grommets in work surface.

Provide 30" high continuous work surface 30" deep along two contiguous walls. One (1) leg shall be on wall w/ view window to kitchen. Support work surface w/ #12s as required by design and provide one (1) #36 at each end w/o keyboard tray. Work station at view window will be L-shaped. Provide 36" min clear space between work stations for lateral file provided by Owner. Provide one (1) quad power outlet and one (1) dual data outlet at each work station 20" AFF accessed via grommets in work surface.

Provide work surface @ 36" high x 15' long x 30" deep w/ 12" deep mailbox unit set full length along back of work surface. Mailbox unit is 8 boxes high and 15 boxes wide beginning 6" above work surface. Each box is approximately 4-1/2" high x 10-1/2" wide. Below work surface provide the following base casework: 2 #60s and 3 #61s.
