Who am I? My name is Silicon I’m Latin. I'm the element that doesn’t have

properties of metal(nonmetal).I'm inert, but is attacked by dilute alkali and halogens. I'm one of the most widely used

elements. I range from liquid to hard solids. I make up 25.7 % of earths Crust. I’m important to the nature of animals and

plants, I'm also part of the ingredient of steel.

The BeginningSilicon was identified by

Antoine Lavoisier in 1787 but rediscovered by Jacob Berzelius(An Swedish Chemist. )

sun. Reason being its carbide is an important abrasive and is used in lasers to produce coherent
