Being entitled to "BRAUN" Thinking "BRAUN" Doing "BRAUN"

Transcript of Element BRAUN

BRUAN is a company from germany, special history, they have gone through many up and down from inventing the first radio & record player to losing the entre business after a fire incident.

1932-( they have invented the first ever radio & record player.)

1931935 to 1954-( they became world leading radio manufacturer.)

1956-( invented the first slide projector.)

1938-( the year of S50 shaver that symbol-ize their brand, the technology that is used to make this shaver help revolutionize the way shaver shave.)

The old BRAUN company are very strong, they stand toe to toe with company like Kodak and leis.

Suprising how the snail’s movement can create a certain frame that can inspire design, for example the displace-ment of the shell add a powerful punch to the entire pic-ture. It show the bold yet agile figure, not directly but vi-suall

The front view provide a different perspective, the way this picture shows the movement of the snail is by the in-tersection of many different small shell link behind each other. Focusing on the same point but providing more volume.

The bolder line represent the main oint of the movement while the less bold line are the connection that are being map out from the main point. With the identity that the snail carry with it when moving along the pathway, it is very clear that this movement belong to the snail even if it doesn’t show the shape of the snail.

As the movement of the snail have been map out, i printed all of them and cut out selective part or area where the different point can intersect with each other. This allows me to create model of many posibility, and the space inside the structure are being enhance with the kind of material that are used in the construction itself.

Different material that we used to combine with the movement template, give out dif-ferent sense of tidyness. The straw might act as a linkway to each and every space of the structure, it also create a capsule like shape. From this combination of both, the choice of material is very important regard-less of which project that we are working on.

The movement that we can capture in urban enviroment can also depict the definition of slicing ,using different medium and effect.

Slicing can be express in many different ways, in term of how it is being showcase to others.iin the next process of Skin and bone, we are allow to use any move-ment to show the “slic-ing ” of the object, movement or even the sound effect that it produce. With the given ma-terial and requirement, we create a big massive marble machine to allow all verb to be express through movement and sound

The process of making this toothpick bridge is the extention of the marble machine. With the knowledge we had learn from the “slicing” and the usage of medium and enviroment to create the sense, we are now able to tran-form physical touch into thinking that can transfocan transform not only the was we think but also the complexitiy of the structure.

The middle of the structure mad a very strong point that doesn’t goes again each other but rather, support each other for the weight applied on it. The strongest part has to be the middle of the structure as we can the pile of toothpick we can the pile of toothpick being stack together and making it directly opposite of the other toothpick.

As the top picture show how both the male and female module connect to each other, this module make use of the shape to prevent the other module from seperating easily. With a certain shape for the module not only is it difficult to fal but also make sure they are much more secure together. As the toothpick are being attach together using UHU glue , the subtitue for the UHU glue is the stick pole that intersect the male module.

As seen from the above there are a total of 6 different ways of how the module can be connected together

All the form are form randomly and could produce much more possibility

The enviroment of the exhibition space , and also include the side wall material that can add to the feeling of the surrounding.

The second we can see that the entrance is porpusely design into a manner that is not as attractive as the first one, we want to blend in together witht the surrounding yet not losing the attractive of our prod-uct and brand.

The other side that BRUAN is facing is going to be a cafe base brand , everything there is unique. So to counter this effect the strength of the product come-in handy, due to the product im selling I m able to attract more costumer to my exhibition with a small sneak peek of the product. The coffee maker is place at a angle that costumer standing at the other exhibition can see, but not fully triggering their interest.

As Dieter Rams mention in his philosophy never lie to yur costumer, the design must be honest, there should not be any unnessesary obstruction if it doesn’t not have any func-tion.
