High School Jamz: The Company l High School Jamz (HSJ), LLC is a music, media and event marketing company that focuses on the production of positive and empowering products and programs for the youth.
l Its purpose is to provide severely-needed funds to participating middle and high schools.
l The Best of the Best © is High School Jamz’ debut program.
Executive Director, A Biographyrecording labels while working for their parent-music distribution companies: PGD, BMG and EMI. Some of their recording labels included Laface, Arista, RCA, Virgin, Bad Boy, V2, Jive/Zomba, Verity, Capitol, Priority, Motown, A&M, Mercury, Loud, EMI Gospel and Rowdy.
Many of today’s popular artists were under Trammel’s portfolio including Toni Braxton, Usher, P Diddy, Whitney Houston, Outkast, SWV, N’Sync, Britney Spears, Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, The Notorious Big, Aaliyah, TLC, A Tribe Called Quest, TD jakes, Fred Hammond, Tony Rich Project, 112, Monica, R-Kelly among others. This, among other consulting work, has given Trammel experience in developing leading entertainment products. He has been selected the alumni coordinator for Berklee College of Music’s Atlanta Alumni chapter where he develops programs for the alumni, recruits and assists with the audition of prospective high school students.
Among honors and awards, in 2004 Berklee College of Music awarded Trammel with the Music Business and
Management Award for outstanding accomplishments in the music industry. In 1995, the Sister 2 Sister Magazine featured him with “The Black Men in the Music-Business Industry Award”.
A native of Dayton, OH, Trammel attended The Chaminade-Julienne Catholic High School where he held a number of leadership positions. The passion for music and vision for making a positive difference influenced Trammel to leave a 15-year mainstream-music career to initiate this initiative to positively impact the lives of the youth through music.
Trammel’s lessons of faith and determination started at home in his early childhood. His mother and grandparents were the first to teach Trammel to pursue the things he believed in. His mother often reminded him that “it is not how much you have, but what you do with what you have.” This influenced his motivation to exit the mainstream music industry and embark in this exciting and ground-breaking initiative, The High School Jamz. He is married to Dr. Juliana Maria Trammel.
m ichael Trammel is the executive director of High School Jamz, LLC
and related programs including “The Best of the Best ©” and the “It Takes S.M.ArT.S” Foundation. In addition to High School Jamz, Trammel is a music-business coach and consultant. He received a BA in Music Business & Management in 1995 from the renowned Berklee College of Music. He was recruited on a four-year scholarship for singing.
