ELECTRICAL REGULATIONS

1. SCOPE, DEFINITION AND APPLICATION

1.1 SCOPE AND APPLICATION -

1.1.1 These regulations al! to the entire ele"tri"al s!ste# $ro# theoint o$ sul! to its use an% "o&ers all o'er e(ui#ent, s'it"h)oar%, o'er %istri)ution an% #otor "ontrol gear, trans$or#ersu)station, earth "onne"tions 'iring, lighting *ttings an%a""essories, et". Se"ial re(uire#ents ha&e also )een in"ororate%in these regulations $or se"i*" use an% testing. E+orts ha&e)een #a%e to ensure that these regulations are as "o#rehensi&eas ossi)le. o'e&er, in rese"t to se"ial t!e o$ Ele"tri"alInstallations, or in "ase o$ %ou)t, re$eren"e shall )e #a%e to theRegional O-"e o$ Tari+ A%&isor! Co##ittee.

1.1. These regulations ha&e )een $ra#e% $or the urose o$ ensuring#a/i#u# sa$et! to the insure% roert! $ro# the ris0 o$ *re an%e/losion %ue to the use o$ ele"tri"it!. To that e/tent, theseregulations shall )e sule#entar! to the In%ian Ele"tri"it! Rules,23 $ra#e% un%er In%ian Ele"tri"it! A"t, 114 an%5or statutor!re(uire#ents.

1.1.6 In a%%ition to these Regulations, re$eren"e shall )e #a%e to therele&ant I.S. Se"i*"ations u)lishe% )! the 7ureau o$ In%ianStan%ar%s, so#e o$ 'hi"h ha&e )een enu#erate% in Aen%i/ F.

1.1.8 Li"ense% Contra"tors an% ele"tri"ians #ust )e e#lo!e% to "arr!out all ele"tri"al 'or0 an% "o#etent engineers shoul% )e engage%to reare se"i*"ations an% to suerinten% the 'or0. Attention is%ra'n to rule 82 o$ the In%ian Ele"tri"it! Rules o$ 123.
