TEGG GLOBAL CLIENTS
MET Group
TEGG Service Contractors are premier providers of electrical preventive maintenance services.
A preventive maintenance program from TEGG Service can help you protect your electrical distribution
system and even your entire facility. Our customized solutions will pay for themselves by helping
avoid unplanned power outages and electrical fires. What are some of the top reasons for
implementing a TEGG Service preventive maintenance program?
• Business Interruptions: Power surges, spikes, transients, and poor preventive maintenance
can cause damage on a regular basis. These events wear down components and eventually
cause premature failure. The more power your facility uses, the greater the risk of failure.
Electrical failures are inevitable without preventive maintenance.
• Life/Safety Risks: According to the National Fire Protection Association, "A well-administered
electrical preventive maintenance program will reduce accidents, save lives, minimize costly
breakdowns and unplanned shutdowns of equipment."
• Utility Costs: The National Energy Management Institute states that, "Improperly torqued
connections and bad contacts can cause increased amperage draw and power loss as well as
heating and arcing (which is both ineffective and dangerous)." Without preventive maintenance,
the distribution system can waste electricity, costing you more in utility bills.
• Power Quality Analysis: Power quality problems cause loss of data and malfunction of
computerized equipment.
• Surge Suppression: Surge protection systems protect your facility from lightning damage and
transients.
• Insurance/Certification: Insurance companies lose millions of pounds each year due to
electrical failure. When insurance companies lose, so do their customers. More and more,
insurance companies are encouraging their customers to participate in electrical preventive
maintenance. It's a savings for all.
• Asset Management: The average life expectancy of your electrical distribution system is only
17 years when electrical preventive maintenance is not performed. When your electrical
system is cared for, its life expectancy can be 35 years.
• Manufacturers' Recommendations: All manufacturers of electrical equipment require
periodic maintenance. A TEGG Service Contractor can meet those requirements and
maximize the life of your facility's electrical distribution system.
• Cost Benefit Analysis: Let us work with you to perform a cost benefit analysis to determine
the value of electrical preventive maintenance in your particular facility.

EPM Process
1. Determine What is Critical to Your Operation:
We systematically identify safety risks and financial risks, as well as determine what electrical
testing and maintenance procedures are already in place.
2. Perform a Comprehensive Survey of Your Electrical Distribution System:
We will complete an in-depth inventory of the electrical components in your facility and
identify the most critical areas for your operation. We will evaluate the current condition of
all equipment and develop recommendations for which pieces should be the highest
priority.
3. Develop a Customized Maintenance Program:
Your facility's maintenance program will include cost justification, safety compliance
recommendations, and arc flash recommendations. In addition, the program will be
carefully crafted to stay within your budget constraints.

Electrical Installation Condition Reports
The MET Group offers an electrical preventative maintenance management system that can
reduce the need or frequency of Fixed Wiring Periodic Inspection Reports.
18th Edition IEE Wiring Regulations – Chapter 65 ‘Periodic Inspection & Testing’
Our system combines four proven technologies and incorporates key elements of UK statutory test and
inspection regulations governed by the Institute of Electrical Engineers (IEE) BS 7671.
▪ Thermal imaging enables you to see and capture infra-red images i.e. heat generated by loose or failing connections.
▪ Ultrasonic detection gives you the ability to detect and record sound between 20 and 70 kHz, allowing you to hear electrical faults before they develop into major electrical issues. Also used as a primary safety check before commencing energised working.
▪ Power quality metering identifies unseen electrical anomalies such as voltage irregularities, current imbalances and harmonic distortions, all of which increase your electricity costs and can pose a serious electrical fire hazard.
▪ Earth loop and prospective short circuit readings are taken on each item tested.
Wherever possible all work is carried out energised with full consideration to health and safety so there
are no interruptions to your business.
All electrical systems inspected, tested and certified within the TEGG programme (which comply
with BS7671 : 2018) are GUARANTEED.

‘’In the UK, the legal requirements for electrical installations
can be found in The Electricity at Work Regulations 1989 (EWR) which
requires that all systems are maintained so as to prevent danger.
These regulations are goal-setting and do not specify how the
requirements are to be met. The Memorandum to the Electricity at
Work Regulations (HSR 25) states that compliance with
652-2: In the case of an installation under an effective management system for
preventative maintenance in normal use, periodic inspection and testing may be
replaced by an adequate regime of continuous monitoring and maintenance of the
installation and all its constituent equipment by one or more skilled persons competent
in such work. Appropriate records shall be kept.
MET Group
BS7671:2018 Requirements for electrical installations, 18th Edition
of the IEE Wiring Regulations is likely to meet the requirements
of the EAWR.
The publication Guidance Note 1 – Inspection and Testing gives
recommended frequencies of inspection and testing of electrical
installations.
To summarise, there is no legal requirement to have electrical
installations tested after particular periods of time’’.

How we do it ?
‘Excellent Service! Excellent Value! Excellent Result! Predictive, Preventative Maintenance has meant we are now able to focus more clearly on areas of need within our facility.TEGG SERVICE Works – it has contributed to lowering risk and improving the reliability and safety of the electrical infrastructure. One of the most significant benefits is that TEGG SERVICE has helped compliance with Electrical Regulations without disruption to operations’Chief Engineer ALPHAGARY Company
TEGG is deployed where power loss is not an option in some of the worlds most famous buildings.
MET Group TEGG Global Testing
Ultrasonic Testing
Ultrasonic testing is pre-thermal testing, we can find hidden issues long before thermal imaging can and before heat damage has occurred to your electrical infrastructure.
Just as Infrared Thermography converts colours that we can’t normally “see” to colours that we can see, Ultrasonic Testing converts sounds that we can’t normally “hear” to sounds that we can hear.
.
Ultrasonic: Having frequencies above normal range of human hearing, i.e., higher than~20kHz.
When required and to comply with HSE live testing MET TEGG engineers will always be protected against arc flash.

Ultrasonic Testing
“Ultrasound will hear arcing in circuit breakers, switches, contacts and relays. In most instances, a quick scan of a door seal or vent will detect the ultrasound emission”
