Very sad news for our industry, we have recently lost several wonderful gentlemen who made the electrical industry their career homes:

Russ Pointer passed away, unexpectedly, on June 8th at the age of 58. Russ was employed by Square D, Westinghouse, and KD/Border States Electric. He worked extensively as a project manager in the field of electrical systems design and installation on many large scale projects. William (Bill) Gray passed away on June 20th at the age of 77, after a battle with lung cancer. He worked for Independent Electric Machinery before opening Advanced ANR in 1985.

KCPL + Westar Energy = Evergy With the completed KCP&L and Westar Energy merger they have formed Evergy. Although Evergy is legally the new name of the company, the opera-tion rules and regulations are still separate. They are continually making progress to combine their pro-cesses, but it will take time. If you make regular use of the Electric Service Standards, you should maintain contact with Evergy due to constant progress in the development of materials and methods. Upon request to Evergy, information will be supplied concerning changes and revisions. Please view the most current Electric Service Standards.

People Column - continued Mark Peterson passed away on July 12th at the age of 63. Mark was employed at Stanion Wholesale Elec-tric specializing in the Data Com side of the industry. Services are Friday, July 19 at Holy Trinity Catholic Church in Lenexa, KS - visitation is 9 a.m. - 10:30 a.m., with the funeral service beginning at 10:30 a.m.Our condolences to family and friends of these won-derful people who will be missed.
